Now that's all relative ACB. You see, if George only gets two yards per carry, and it's only the 1st or 2nd down, with 10-yards remaining to move the chains; Westbrook or Buckhaulter could probably take it the rest of the way to pay dirt!

Realistic response: I get you point. Everyone realizes that George doesn't come with great credentials, and I'm sure your Cowboys would probably not give him a strong referral letter. But George under a different coach may prove you wrong.

But this may all be for nothing -- I heard his agent was talking with several teams.

I am actually not as hard on George as most. He did not get a real good chance here but it's because he doesn't have much wiggle left and his quicks are gone. If all you want is a guy who can carry the ball for 3 yards and will take the beating, that's your guy. He won't change games for you but he is a stand up guy. Doesn't complain. Won't be a bad player in the locker room. Just not what your really looking for IMO. I don't know, I think you guys could do better.

Qd, don't jump to so many conclusions all at once! I'm not excited, I'm merely
quoting Adam Schefter, of NFL.com.

ABQCOWBOYS, Schefter calls us the Cowbozoys as well? OK then.

ACB ...

I'm really starting to wonder about the way you read these post and manipulate my words for your own underlying objective(s).

Look at the post carefully, it references Schefter, but it never quotes Schefter! Therefore how could you possibly think that Schefter quoted the term Cowbozoys?

Again, Cowbozoys" is a pet name; similarly used like the term Iggles! Not meant to be offensive; but adding a tasteful sting -- with a sense of opponent fun without being disruptive to those who would otherwise use like terms to discribe opponent franchises (e.g., Deadskins, Gnats, etc).

Don't worry about the small stuff ACB

That's a real "stand-up" kind of assessment ACB -- you're back! Actually the concept isn't a bad one. Remember how effective Duce Staley and Jerome Bettis were ...

Ask the Steelers: Jerome Bettis Part 2

Those two or three critical yards were super critical in changing the chains and making pay dirt. I think George could be effectively used on a team as a 3 yard back -- especially in his last years (not necessarily as an Eagle).

Perhaps you can help me. What is my underlying objective?

I'm pretty sure I never left but whatever.

I hope you do sign George. I don't think he's what you need but that's for you guys to decide.

In all fairness, you could ask the same question to any player on any team.

Right?

Sure, but you'll find more people asking that question more times about a guy who's missed more than half his team's games in 4 years.

It wouldn't be to pull my leg because I'm an Eagles fan that has just as much fervor about my team as many here have regarding theirs?

Pull your leg because your misguided? No, of course not. I don't throw rocks at small children or pull wings off butterflies either. LOL...

All kidding aside, I have no agenda with you.

If this is a question the answer is no.

"Minor talks" probably means that Georges agent called the Eagles to see if they were interested and the Eagles said maybe.

He's probably on the list as a plan Z - in case of drastic injuries. If Buckhalter get's injured, they'll probably give Perry a shot if he's healthy. If he doesn't work out, they'd probably go for Levens before George. If Levens isn't available, then they might call George.

Eddie George was absolutely terrible last year IMO. He was so slow it was pathetic. He averaged 3.3 yards per carry last year behind the same line that allowed Julius to get 4.2 yards per carry. Same mediocre blocking, but a 27% improvement in yards per carry. George simply couldn't get it done. I don't know why he'd even want to stay in the league, but I guess a lot of these guys simply can't let go. He was shot 3 years ago, and I was never behind his signing last year (but they NEVER ask me, go figure). If he goes to Eagles camp I seriously doubt he'll make it out of camp.

No one said he was going to be a starter; like in Dallas.

We truly hope you can lure Eddie to your team. He would be a welcome addition for you in our opinion.

I'm sure the Eagles were just waiting for your team's blessing before they made their decision.
