Egbuka runs 4.45 at OSU Pro Day

Egbuka put any questions about his speed to rest on Wednesday as he ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, a time plenty fast enough to strengthen his standing as a likely first-round draft pick. The shifty receiver also proved just how quickly he can change directions by posting a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.12 seconds, which would have tied for the third-fastest time among wide receivers at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.

Egbuka also had a strong showing running routes and catching passes from Howard during the quarterback’s throwing session, capping his day off with a deep-ball catch that prompted him to celebrate like he had just scored a touchdown in Ohio Stadium.

Who is anyone gonna trade up for, it sounds like all the players worthy of trading up for will be gone, with the exception of Tet, but he's not seen as fast enough, so teams are gonna have to get desperate and fall in love with a qb.

My favorite first round WR. All of these guys--Tet, Burden, Golden--would be drafted as a number two to Lamb. Only Egbuka is a 'sure thing' in that role IMO.

And he's far above the next tier of prospects, like Higgins or Noel, which I honestly wouldn't want to draft until the third round.

Really, if we want a second WR from this draft that is better than Tolbert, I think its between Tet and Egubka.

Egbuka would be my preferred choice. He has the right attitude to go along with his skill set. I'm hoping someone falls in love with Warren after Bowers' rookie performance last year. And we can trade back a few slots. But I think It's a long shot.

all they do is make plays.
every ohio st or texas game i watched it seemed like they made every big catch.

The third round is for players like Jalen Tolbert. Either they come from a small school and teams don't know if or when they can step up a level or they come from a bigger school and have a pretty good size flaw in their game that teams don't know if they can overcome.

To be honest, I don't believe Dont'e Thornton Jr will make it to the 3rd round. But if I say the Cowboys should take him in the 2nd round for the reason just mentioned, many here will ridicule my opinion to draft Dont'e earlier than the 3rd round.

It is an issue, but we can only do the draft that's in front of us. And are there any true number one WR in the first this year?

To me, Tet is the only one, and even that's iffy cause his speed/quickness.

It would suck to burn a 12 pick on a guy who tops out as a second WR. So you gotta hope they can trade down or pick an elite player at another position. Other problem is, for us, we desperately need a second WR, and outside of the first, who could that possibly be?

Hence why they should have brought in a WR in FA so we didnt have to be forced to look at them in the draft.

Keenan Allen is right there. Perfect for Dak considering his accuracy issues.

I like him as a prospect, but what we need in a second WR is consistency, more than anything. Move the chains. Get first downs. Get open in the red zone. Lamb is our big play guy.

Yeah I would agree. Unless we see a surprising name fall or someone wants to move up for QB I think its going to be more difficult to trade back than it has been in the past, and the return for trading back isnt going to be quite as lucrative. I don't think its any secret that outside of just a few players the advantage of this draft class is the depth it has instead of the cant miss 1st round guys.

He has been a strong #2 receiver throughout his college career, fits that role to a tee in our offense. Not worth the #12 pick due to lack of becoming a #1 receiver, but is an excellent trade back candidate. He is my #3 receiver in the class.

How do you rank the 1st rd receivers, assuming Hunter is more of a corner? I have Golden, T-Mac, Burden, Ebuka. Ebuka as a #2 receiver makes a ton of sense, but too high for 12.
