Imagine Zeke is on a rookie FA minimum contract, is Elliott worth a roster spot? If his salary was of no consequence would you keep him?

I'm interested in the consensus of opinions on him, based strictly on his current performance potential. Cost is irrelevant.

Your 3 game-day RB's are Pollard, a rookie to be drafted, and ???????

on that contract yes....But he wouldnt be the starter at all and i would make that VERY clear Pollard if fully ready to go is getting 90% of the touches

I liked the little I saw out of Malik Davis.

Pollard nor Davis is an every down back.
If Zeke is released, they must draft a RB in the top 3 rounds.

If Zeke stays, then they best utilize all 3 RB's to their skills.

Fixing the OL is a must regardless of what they do.

I too do not want Zeke getting a big % of carries BUT, if they reduce his base salary to minimul and he can still be the short yardage back that is the best case scenario for cap space and free up a draft pick....

What kind of question is this?

12 TDs 0 fumbles
One of the best pass blocking RBs & short yardage RBs in the league. Yeah let’s take a random undrafted RB instead - dumb.

It's okay to move on from guys that no longer produce.
it is, but its also ok to change what they do to something productive if it helps the cap situation and free's up a draft pick you would need to spend. AGAIN I in no way want Zeke carrying the load at all...but if instead of him being gone and on the books for almost 7 mill i can get him on the books for 2 mill and use him in short yardage/ blocking/ goaline...it helps the cap and free's up a draft pick.

I'll bet the draft a RB regardless of whether they keep Elliott.
And if they let Elliott go, it won't be some "random" back, it will be in the first 3-4 rounds or higher.

Exactly! It's ridiculous the scenarios people come up with to justify keeping an over the hill player. Let's just sign Michael Irvin to a minimum contract while we're at it too
this is way diferent, he can be used correctly and he is already going to hit your cap. if you can reduce that cap hit by 4 mill and use him correctly (short yardage/goaline/blocking) its a win.

I’d say $3.5-4M is a realistic worth for Zeke. I won’t be surprised if he looks decent again for like 6 weeks, but will continue to break down with any kind of workload

thats the key they can not keep him at any price and give him any workload...short yardage and goalline with some blocking thrown in.

You ignore the inconsistent o line, an oc not committed to run game, hc unwilling to step in. Pollards lack of real success up the middle (had to freqently showcase his speed to the edge, remember that?), and even tony fell off late in the year with several 2.5 ypc games.

But...all zekes fault hes toast.
Sure.
