Agreed. Of course, I’d prefer to say they carried each other! You know, team game!
IF the Cowboys win the SuperBowl, the Cowboys roster will be least improved Off-season team with greatest supporting cast ever...

The leader

The leader in rushing yards (Josh Jacobs) has 1539...Zeke makes 12M more per year than Jacobs...

The Raiders haven't exactly valued Jacob's, declining to pick up his 5th year option.

He may not even he a Raider next season. They had little faith in him leading up to this year.

I don’t think Dorsett and Walker did it. Their best year together Dorsett was in the 700’s if I remember correctly. Too lazy to look it up.

I know if I keep reading I’ll see the answer but I’m going to guess it’s not an obvious choice like that. These kind of questions always surprise with at least one of the answers. One of the groups has to be a duo from the last 20 years since we had so many combo running attacks.

I had an inkling that Calvin Hill had to be in one of those "Cowboys RB 800-yard duos".
Slapping my face in not looking up his rookie year... when he garnered the NFL Trifecta of__
Pro Bowl selection
All-Pro First Team
Offensive Rookie of the Year...would have seen that his backfield teammate Walt Garrison accomplished the 800-yard total for that season.

Please reveal your research methods to the Cowboys Zone membership, so that we all can bring out accurate Cowboys & NFL facts\trivia.

Thanks man......I just went to Pro Football Reference and dug this info up. I went to the 1960 Cowboys page and kept going until I got to 1969.

There's an outside chance both end up with 1000 rushing yards, which would be a Cowboys' first.

Pollard (988) will get there, it will take two big games for Zeke (currently at 829) to do it.

If Zeke is to pull it off, he needs to have a huge game against the Titans to get as much as he can, because if not it could be a repeat of Emmitt vs Washington in the season finale in 2002, especially with us playing them next week.

I was watching a mock draft show on youtube where the Raiders draft Bijan Robinson and move on from Jacobs so they can get an elite running back on a 5 year rookie contract.

I remember Cleveland had a pair of 1k backs.

Probably Mack and Byner. Not looking it up.

Neither Pollard or Zeke is likely to hit it unless miracles happen. The Washington game is probably mostly Malik Davis.

Yes, they did it in 1985.

Ok........why would any fan like Zeke?

"A blessing to have Zeke" How is that? We are paying 18 million for an over the hill back that can barely average over 4 ypc. Any of 30 backs or more in the NFL can do what Zeke does and for much much less.

For you to even say we are lucky to be paying 18 million for a 4 ypc back is completely laughable. Without Zeke, Pollard might be having one of the best years in NFL history for a back.
CowboyRoy......where were you when Zeke was on a rookie contract, leading the league in rushing, and the Cowboys were milking every ounce of effort out of him? Did you cry "He is underpaid?"

And are you working in the Cowboys' Finance department? It's understandable for the "What have you done for me lately?" mantra.......all the more reason players go get their money while they can, due to performance & market value........I suspect you are going to turn on Micah in a few years from now. Can see that a mile away.

And I hope Zeke didn't do something personal......like fail or refuse to sign an autograph for you, or bump into you without saying excuse me. And I don't understand the lack of recognizing or acknowledging Zeke's character as a teammate, because all we've heard is positive examples of such and nothing but compliments to his teammate.....Tony Pollard. (Never saw that for the TEs when it came to JWitt). I'm surprised (no am not) that he isn't lauded for leadership and praise like SLee and JWitt would be complemented with on a regular basis, on this board.

So is it the money he makes?......the hairdo?......the unsubstaniated claim there are 30 backs better in this role?......the wrecking of the Air Coryell Jr's offense that TPollard is in also?.....or because of some Skip Bayless' claims about his play?.....or your concerns for Jerry's money?

Nothing personal toward your posts, in fact never personal. I'm just shaking the leaves CowboyRoy.

Why would anyone like Zeke?

What you know now is that CowboyRoy was dead right about Pollard and Zeke.
And this is why we can't one GD nice thing here at the zone.

("gosh darn", btw  )

Using third person...should be grounds for a benching!

It’s nice to have them both.. Elliot picks up hard yards and softens defense and Pollard opens the can.. By end of games both can eat..

He was already hatin' at that point. He told me "zeke is only leading the league because of number of carries". Snarky.
I showed him Emmitt's number of carries and he promptly put my on ignore. He could not handle the truth.

Like any leading back, they easily surpass 20, and often close to or at 30. It's how it works.

I wouldn't put too much more effort into it. He's a goner.

Where was I? I was saying that we blew a top 5 pick on a RB when we should have taken Jalen Ramsey.

NO reason to compound one mistake by resigning a RB early for the biggest RB contract in history. If Jerry had called his bluff and let him liquor up in Cabo for 3 games he would have figured out what a stud Pollard was his rookie year.

So Zeke was thinking about the team when he was holding out in Cabo? Came in out of shape and fat for how many years? Refused to let Pollard get his carries or his shine for years?

zeke is an immature joke of a has been RB. Dogs mauling neighbors. Being a drunk loser, getting in fights and getting suspended. Besides the fact that he looks like an ewok?

Sorry, cant stand the guy. Funny part is I would probably like him if I met him. Thats Jerry's problem. He is too much of a fan and not a GM.

No, you are entitled to your opinion. IM just the other end of the spectrum. Cant figure out for the life of my why anyone would like Zeke. Other than being a homer? And really that is no excuse.

I got it......and it sounds like there's fan hate and inneudos all over the place in the post too, but that's just my opinion and that would be scary for some innocent person.... who follows with?......... Never personal.

Im sure he would be a fun guy to go out to the strip clubs with and party up. But not the kind of leader I want leading my football team and giving the largest RB contract in history to. Surely you can understand the difference.

And yah, as a fan of a player on our team, I hate Zeke the most. Most overpaid, immature, selfish player on the team. Should have never been drafted, never extended, and Pollard has been the better back and should have been getting most of the carries for 3 years running.

Pollard needs 12 yards to reach 1,000. Zeke needs 171. Pollard probably gets there. Zeke needs a big game.
