Then explain why Marinelli preferred Zeke over Ramsey.

That was always reported second-hand. Furthermore this should be a scouts and organizational philosophy decision.

For instance do you think there was a coach (or player for that matter) in 2014 who didn't want to keep Murray?

If Wentz is a stud and Romo only has a couple of years left, we are going to wish we "mortgaged" the future for Wentz.

If Prescott turns into the next Russell Wilson after Romo is done here, we're going to be thankful we didn't "mortgage" our future.

Oh, and Wentz and Prescott are big IF's at this point.

I think it would be profitable to. People would go see the games. Open franchises in Ohio/Pa/Texas/ Florida/Cali..some state in the Midwest. Could even "test" markets by putting the teams in different mid-sized cities...I don't know, I actually think it would make money.....

no more PS stuff...

Perfect states.

Only a homer would argue that the likelihood of either becoming a franchise QB is equal between the two.

I'll take a chance on a first round QB over a 4th round QB every freaking day of the week.

I'm a bonafied homer. Won't deny the claim either. In here though, that moniker is frowned upon as if it was some kind of disease. I wear it like a badge of honor. I love my Cowboys!

I agree, a first rounder's chances of not being a bust out weigh a fourth rounder any day of the week. So the homer in me is wishing Wentz, and every quarterback not drafted by the Cowboys this year is a complete bust!

Go Prescott! Go Cowboys!

One can hope. I admit there is part of me that is excited to see Dak out there. The production he showed a Miss St vs some very tough teams in the SEC is impressive. I see where he has a lot of work ahead of him and some natural talents you can't teach. I think the biggest test will be his ability to process what he is seeing and be able to make quick and correct decisions. Arm wise I think he has ample arm strength to make the throws he will have to make.
I’m not going to claim him the next franchise QB nor willing to call him a bust, like any player regardless of where you are selected it all comes down to what you do on the field.

Oh but they did. Plus dead money. Keep denying.

Well in fairness, dead money is a Chip Kelly mistake, not the current GMs problem. The current GM was smart to get out from under some of those bad deals. That team wasn't contending anyway next year, even if they had another $10MM to throw around.

They had a cap charge of 9m for Murray this year and now it is 4m. Next year it was 9m and now it is 0m.

That is called clearing the books and getting a draft pick. Same with Maxwell.

Let me know when the pain begins.

Pain? :muttley:

Gotta love how worked up some people get in here. The Eagles are now having to rebuild from scratch, putting faith in a kid who played for NDSU. They gave up way too much to move up for an enigma. We are in a much better situation whether you want to recognize it or not. But by all means, continue taking up for the Eagles and there awesome front office.

I'm not taking up for the Eagles, just highlighting how easily they got out of Murray's and Maxwell's huge contracts.

Every scaredy-cat Cowboy fan won't sign anyone because we will have to pay our OL in a few years, the Horror......

Those 'bad' contracts will be expired by the time we have to sign Martin and Collins and the cap will rise by 20m.

Dead money just means you were smart enough to get a discount when the cap was lower. Intentionally paying full price is for dumb people.
