I think people in the public have to understand that people with "special" abilities are often given second chances. It happens not only in football and professional sports - I know it often happens in medicine as well.

All sorts of misconduct is tolerated so long as the person admits his mistake, seeks treatment for his issue and then adjust behaviour according to guidelines handed down from the "College" (In the USA you guys might have a different name for it).
