Did you guys actually read the article?

Here's what Emmitt said.

This alone should tell you not to take him seriously. You guys want to accept the expert analysis of someone who didn't even watch the game?

His point is still valid.

Let Dak be Dak done of the time.
We do it/did it for Romo,

I don't see anyone saying to turn Dakota loose.
I see plenty of fans, analyst, former players saying to turn Dak loose. Who is this Dakota and why are we using the long version of his name when he doesn't. Should we be moving Dezmond around also or should we be moving Dez around?

I like the kid...mean no disrespect to him, you, his fans or analysts by calling him Dakota. I also refer to #9 as Antonio Ramiro Romo. My bad sir/madam.

I keep seeing these type of comments...turn Dakota loose or don't be conservative when it comes to Dakota. The Cowboys threw the ball 45 times and ran it 30 times against the Giants. Pretty sure that is letting the kid play.

The minute Dakota is "let loose" and has a bad game with poor decisions and turnovers like most rookie/young QBs tend to have...then there will be those crying about Dallas not protecting the QB with the running game behind the League's best OL. Smh...

Calling a bunch of passes isn't necessarily "cutting loose"

Not to say that's the best option or not, but bulk doesn't really mean the same thing. Actually I don't really have a point and forgot where I was going, so I will shut up now but reserve the right to come back if it hits me

Imo a coaching staff consisting of Aikman, Irving, Emmit, Woodson, Haley, Novacek and Stenopski would be better than Garrett and crew.

Garretts philosophy is rooted in the he played as a backup. Conservative, check down, take what they give you. You want those things as a back up but not as a starter.

It's Emmitt, Irvin and Stepnoski. At least spelling Dak and Zeke will be easier. :)

Fair enough, but then wouldn't you think its the coaches fault about Dez? Or apparently you think Dez cant run a drag?

See how you are blaming the player and not the coach?
Something tells me the coaches aren't telling the receivers to drop the ball either, but hey, gotta blame someone right?

I'm more interested in Emmitt's opinions regarding Zeke.

The offense WAS catered to Dak.
The formations and never under center offense was Dak-friendly in a big way.
He'll continue to grow.

I read the article and agree with everything he said. What I interpret as "letting the kid play" and "sometimes take from the defense " instead of just taking what the defense gives you is throw the ball to Dez and let Dez make a play. If Dez is our main guy and main threat then Dak has got to try and make a play towards him regardless if he's covered or double covered.
On EE and Morris, I think it's a great idea to put them both back there.
On dez, he only got 5 passes thrown to him. Someone earlier this week posted the stat breakdown of how many and what routes he ran. Dez ran 20+ go routes and only had the ball thrown to him 5 times. That would be very frustrating if I'm a receiver running go routes and not getting the ball. That's a lot of running up the field for no reason. I'm a little worried about Dez and his injuries and such but I got to hand it to him, he controlled his emotions well. I'd be angry in that situation.

Yeah let dak loose and have everyone drop the ball or not control going to the ground. I seen so many games where receivers were able to make that catch going down. Invest in better receivers.

Yeah he couldn't possibly know more than anyone that posts on the site
You don't have to be a skydiver to know if your parachute doesn't open, you're going to die. Remember, it was Troy that pushed so hard for the failure at TE that they called David Lafluer . If football players know so much, then why do you have them smoking weed and failing drug tests repeatedly that costs them millions and and sometimes their jobs? Because someone's a fan and not a football player, doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about. Emmitt certainly didn't know when to hang up his cleats, that's for sure. He also didn't know when to let the backup come in and get some yards on the field when he couldn't.

I love Emmitt as a player, but there is a reason why no one pays him for his opinion on football.

The reason no one pays him for his opinion on football is his inability to speak the English language correctly. A couple of years ago on his Twitter account he misspelled Witten's name, spelling it "Whitten."
