Rich, poor, black, white....losing a home or anything precious is devastating because it has personal meaning and those memories cant be replaced, doesn't matter who you are. I will continue to send out my prayers to all of them and pray they get back some normalcy.

I have almost no pictures of me as a very young kid because we lost everything in a hurricane/flood in Chorpus Christi when I was a tiny lad. Only whatever my relatives up north had remain. I completely understand this perspective. And appreciate the internet and free photo sites!

I am certain Jimmy is feeling the pain of loss after the storm. Pity.

But he has the financial wherewithal to overcome this tragedy. Not to say that makes him less worthy for our sympathy.

However, there are a great deal of people in Houston and surrounding areas and Florida that do not have the money to rebuilt and start afresh.

My own personal feelings are these folks deserve more of my condolences.

I feel bad for Jimmy, but on the bright side it doesn't look like he sustained that much damage. It looks like the house is still structurally sound, so its more of a clean up issue. I have seen pictures from Harvey here in Texas where you just see a concrete slab, the whole dam house is gone.

This place still finds a way to amaze me with stupid posts. I read something and say "That will never be topped", and then someone directly after it posts something even worse. Ridiculous.

He's not upset just due to the damages, it has more to do with the moments and the meaning of the home. He says, "It's our dream place" - meaning, it's something between he and his wife.

Speaking of Jimmy, what happened to his boat '3Rings'. Did he say anything about that?

He gets to tell his story in ways that others don't have the opportunity. He and Richard Branson are putting a human face on the damage. If it can happen to some of the most powerful people in the world, just think what regular people are going through. I'm really happy to see that they are sharing their stories.

The article said that both of his boats were moved 35 miles to safety. I assume that was one of them.

Never feel sorry for a man that owns a plane.

J/K

You had me until ..."J/K"

He's a multi millionaire and fully insured I'm quite certain. I'll save my thoughts for folks who are really in need. I love the fact he brought us two SB's but some of you guys need to get a grip.

I said that early on because the first few post were emotional and didn't want to offend anyone thank you very much. But it was true but I was just being politically correct for the masses. ;)

Because this story immediately establishes Jimmy as more worthy of our attention than those who truly suffer.

How does it do that, because it is a story about someone who people know, I have seen a ton of stories this week about people we do not know and their suffering and I feel bad for them. How does a story about Jimmy and his loss make anyone's loss more important.

He is someone we know who had a loss, people are interested.

Bring on the Hurricanes.

..trade ya?

Cuz the worry of living in the Tornado Belt year and around every day, really SUCKS!..and it is far more deadly here, though the national media tends to ignore our tragedies compared to the Beach Community.

Copy that!
My mother used to be terrified of tornados ,she'd talk about some twisters thru Kansas when she was a kid that left wheat stubble straw driven into tree trunks like a nail hammered half way, we had one come thru after midnight and dad opened the doors / windows and it pulled the front living room wall of the house out about 3/4" ,,, it could've been really bad, that one.o_O

Me, I'd just as soon pass up tornados...one hit the post office processing station where I was working. We all survived it by grace.
