At the end of the day, Jimmy and his loved ones are still alive and well. Everything else is just 'stuff'.

Amen to that. Dude is a multimillionaire and all of his family is safe. You build your house in the keys on the water, then you should expect that a hurricane is eventually going to come along and destroy it. Time to rebuild and move on.

This place still finds a way to amaze me with stupid posts. I read something and say "That will never be topped", and then someone directly after it posts something even worse. Ridiculous.

He's not upset just due to the damages, it has more to do with the moments and the meaning of the home. He says, "It's our dream place" - meaning, it's something between he and his wife.
You can lead the clueless to water but unfortunately you can't drown them:thumbup:

tough to have the damage he has but he is so loaded he can replace everything he has. shoot the car would pay off my house so I have a hard time feeling sorry for him. he makes six figures for one hour of work on sundays. Johnson will be more then fine.

Eh, sucks for everyone down there. He'll be fine...and he'll be able to rebuild quicker than most.

It's primarily a financial loss, so yeah, his financial wherewithal minimizes it.

The video doesn't show Jimmy crying over lost photo albums, or pets or other irreplaceables. It takes us on a tour of his hurricane-damaged tropical estate.

It matters that Jimmy has the means to restore his estate to its former condition (or any other condition he chooses). It means Irma only cost him some money. Hard to get too worked up about that given the costs she imposed on others, far less fortunate than Jimmy.
Why do some people only look at this from a monetary perspective? It was his freaking home! And it's not like a magic wand will be waved and everything's immediately rebuilt or replaced.

Because they are clueless as to what this loss means. Stuff is stuff but your home is where you can go to grieve. When they take that too you feel 'displaced' and you are homeless. There's nowhere to go. It's a horrible feeling.

“Don’t feel sorry for me,” Jimmy says. “I can rebuild. I have the money. I feel bad for people who lost their house and don’t know what to do. Those are the ones to feel sorry for, the ones who need help right now.”

That's a man that knows how lucky he truly is.

This thread reminds me of those times where a player donates x amount to a cause or a hopsital.
It's either:
"Great job, very nice thing to do!"
"That's it? He makes 7 million a year, should of donated more."

Its a damn shame people here saying why feel bad for him because he has so much money. Thats total BS. A house provides long lasting memories for anyone. Its more about money. I live in NY and my house was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. Everyrhing i ever owned was gone. Everything. The thing that I lost that meant the most to me was pictures and videos of my mom. She passed away in 1999 and was only 51. So all the money in the world cant replace things like that. Losing a house is devastating to anyone. Rich or poor. I think some people should be a little more sensitive. Thats all.

I agree. But most of those people will get help to rebuild thier home. It swe it happen with Sandy. Pretty much anyone who rented or owned was taking care of. But i guess my point is for people to not feel bad for JJ at all is just simply neive and heartless
