End of an Era - What is your memory?

lol last year beating the Giants haha when Bryant kicked it out of bounds and we got the field goal we were down bad too in that game

My memory is struggling to stay up til 12:30 or 1:00 on the east coast. MNF sux on the east coast, especially if you're unlucky enough to have to go to the game live. I missed 1/2 the 1st quarter one game because the moron's decided (pre-911) to use metal detectors and didnt have enough for the 65,000 fans that showed up.

The 38-0 drubbing by the Cardinals was absolutely disgusting, but it changed the season for the Cowboys. Bob Lily later said, "after that game we decided we weren't going to win anything and decided to just go out there and have fun." Believe it or not, they made it to the Superbowl that year on the strength of their defense. (even beating Detroit 5-3 in a playoff game.) Even that bad memory had a good side. The worst memory, maybe because of the recency of it, was the loss to Washington this year.
One of my favorite memories, since I never, ever liked Cosell's pompous NY attitude, was the game that led to the end of his MNF career. Washington was playing somebody, and I really don't remember who, one of the Skin's little smurf size receivers caught a pass and was zig-zagging through the defense and Cosell, who loved the skins, screamed, "look at that little monkey run!" Fans started calling ABC immediately, and Cosell adamantly stated that he didn't say that and would never say such a thing. Of course, replays clearly showed he did. His career with ABC was done.
And, I was glad he was gone.

Dallas vs the Saints with Ken Stabler in 1984. Randy White totally dominated the game.

For me there will be several good memories.

Dorsett's 99 yard TD even though we lost the game. I was sitting under my Mom's fern in our living room when the ball was on the 1/2 yard line. My Mom asked me what now. I said Doresett would break it and set the record. When he broke free I jumped up and sent pieces of that plant flying in every direction. I had fern hanging all over me. As I thought Minnesota would catch him I didn't have time to feel guilty. When he scored I didn't celebrate just turned to look at my Mom who was laughing hysterically.

Chris Boniol's holder muffing a field goal attempt while I was in an East Side sports bar with a group of friends watching the game against the Eagles. Seeing victory snatched from the jaws of defeat is heavenly.

Same thing this year with Roy's interception return for a TD. El Chevo from this site watched the game with me at the Wildcat House. There was a very obnoxious Eagles fan who left as soon as Roy scored. Sweet revenge.

Christmas Day 1995. I was at the game where Emmitt Smith broke the single season TD record with his 25th. That was the "Jerry MaGuire" game where they were filming the movie. It was Buddy Ryan's last game. Still remember a sign that said "Stupid is as Buddy does."

Finally a sadder note, I still remember Howard Cosell announcing the death of John Lennon.

Oh, also...

The next regular season game, in fact. In Washington for the '83 opener at RFK. We were down 23-3 at the half. Dominated.

In the second half, Danny White hooked up with Tony Hill for two deep touchdowns. Dallas won 31-30.

Now that was a great game. I remember that one.

The Eagles botched snap in 1996 on the last play was one of my favorite memories

I also remember Antonio Freeman's catch against the Vikings, simply amazing
