This is sneakily one of Romo's best plays from the game. After looking to the right for a second in the beginning, he looks to the left for Witten. Witten doesn't come free, and without even looking back to the right to see where Escobar was going to be, Romo just throws it to where he figures Escobar (who when the throw was made, is behind a whole wall of blue shirts) will be crossing into open space.

I'm in awe.

Also, I love the design of this. 3 TEs in a run formation on short yardage, but all go out running crossing routes. Witten sets a pick for Hannah, and Hannah sets a pick for Escobar. Romo has great anticipation and hits Escobar at just the right time in a window that wasn't even open when he released the ball.

It was a great play, but he turned his head back to the right to see Escobar before he threw it. Use the slow motion on that Gif and watch Romo's facemask.

The great thing about a receiver like Escobar is that he literally stands out in the crowd.

Yea, sorry I didn't mean to suggest he no-looked it, it's more like this:

That's the point where he's throwing the ball, and Escobar is literally blanketed by 2 DBs with another streaking across the window (covering Hannah and trailing). But somehow Romo reads how the play was designed, notes Hannah's positioning, and makes the throw anyway... and hits his man.

He also missed Hanna I'm the middle too, but he wasn't looking to go there...still a great throw and catch by those two.

Hanna unintentionally picked the defender giving Escobar the space to make that catch.

Watching it in slow motion makes it look like Hanna was open for so long. I was thinking... you didn't see that? However, what this video does show is Romo's toughness to stay in the pocket and awareness of where and when pressure is coming all while trusting his recievers and going through all his reads.

The whole time he was looking at witten he also felt pressure on the right side. Maybe that's the reason he missed Hanna in the middle but at the same time knew Escobar was coming free as soon as Hanna hit his spot. All before getting hit. Greatness!

I'd love to see heavy use of 3 TE sets with Dez out.

Randle better stop diving at DL's feet and start manning up and hitting them square. Also, Leary with great awareness on the stunt and tosses his guy to the ground. Beasting

Its a quick play designed to get the ball out to the flat. Randles job is to cut the DL at the feet so that the DL can't jump and knock down or get in the way of the throw. He did exactly what he was suppose to on the play.

I think what hurt hanna was that when he came open Romo didn't see him, and with Witten carrying Unga right in front of Hanna, it didn't give Romo a clear throwing lane to Hanna. not to mention he has hands of stone o.0

Hanna ran his route into coverage instead of stopping in the soft spot, also I don't think Romo really trusts his hands

E: Big respect to Tight Ends, Witten and Escobar were getting the hell beat out of them inside 5 yards, no wonder Pope makes them do degrading crap while they catch passes

Any WRs that drop a pass should have to spend a week with the TEs and Pope.
