When you look at the helmet of Romo you can see that his 2nd read is Witten. He found him covered and went on to Escobar.

Because he went to Witten after his first read he missed an wide open Hanna.

If it was Romo looking for his buddy and not making the right 2nd read (Hanna) is up for discussion.
I for myself believe the play is desingned for Hanna to be the 2nd read.

Anyways.... Its good to have a OL that gives our QB the additional time to make up for such mistakes.

I highly doubt Hannah was any read on that play at all. When you have pass catching TEs like Witten and Escobar out there, Hannah's just the guy who is there to set the "incidental" picks, and as a last minute "Romo magic" type of thing where the play breaks down.

He also missed Hanna I'm the middle too, but he wasn't looking to go there...still a great throw and catch by those two.

I noticed that, too. Glad Wittne didn't get called for OPI on that.

Going to Witten on 2nd read and not to Hanna; taking Escobar as your last resort when the play nearly is over.
I don't interpret that as alot of trust in his TEs not named Witten.

I don't think Witten was the 2nd read actually, I think Romo just looked to the right to read the defense and throw off the defense (you don't want to stare down your first read), and then Witten was the first read to the left. Escobar was the 2nd, I think.

The O-Line all did their thing on that play. Great blocking! As mentioned by others, the guy that made a weak attempt & got Tony whacked as he released the ball, was Randle.

I also liked the look of the 3 TE set...and it could be useful in the red zone with Dez out.

Hanna ran his route into coverage instead of stopping in the soft spot, also I don't think Romo really trusts his hands

E: Big respect to Tight Ends, Witten and Escobar were getting the hell beat out of them inside 5 yards, no wonder Pope makes them do degrading crap while they catch passes

He ran into coverage, subsequently freeing up Escobar. People can call it unintentional if they want, but it did work out pretty well.

Yea look at this pic and see how steady he is in the pocket and square with his posture, with a rusher about to hit him.

Yep. Hips are so important. Feet set. Weight distribution. Solid posture.....equals accuracy, trajectory and ball spin.

You can tell Tony Romo works on his mechanics. Alot.

Its called anticipation. They have to trust their reads and their teammate to be at a certain place when they make the throw. Its what separates pro quarterbacks from college quarterbacks. Its why guys like Brees, Brady and Romo succeed while superior athletes like JaMarcus Russell or Tim Tebow don't make it. The coverage is too good and the openings close so quickly that if you have to see a guy open to make the throw, you're too late.
