I really don't understand the fuss over this Henson fellow. The hype this kid is getting for playing over in a weak developmental league has left me dumbfounded. He has looked a tad better than pedestrian over in Europe from what I've seen in live action, nothing to write home about. Hamdan (Seattle), Campbell (Cleveland) and Ochs (Buffalo) have looked far superior and none of them have a realistic shot of making their respective NFL rosters this summer. And now that Henson is hurt there could be questions as to if he even makes it to Oxnard for camp. I think as Cowboy fans we are grasping for straws here. This Henson kid is still young, but I don't feel that he has the intangibles to make it in the NFL, at least as a starting QB. He lacks refinement in his mechanics and his decisions in the pocket are terrible at times. Plus when is the last time that a superstar came from the 'minor league' ranks and lived up to billing in the NFL.
At this point I'm more than content with Bledsoe, he might not be the best QB in the game right now, but he sure isn't the worst option out there either. I think Bledsoe has at least 2 good years left before we need to legitimately worry about the position. In fact we probably will draft a QB next year to groom for a couple of seasons. Let's not forget about Tony Romo. It seems to me that Romo is one of the leagues best kept secrets. He looked good last preseason and hopefully will step up his game this summer and leave no doubts as to who the #2 man is. I'm not sure if he's the long term answer to replace bledsoe, but we'll have to stay tuned.
Things should be interesting this camp with several other young QB's on the roster all battling it out for the 3rd and final spot with Henson if he makes it back, but either way at this point Henson is not THE ANSWER.
