No link, but I can vouch what Broaddus had to say about Cisowski's take on Heath from relatively early in camp. The scouts, at least, thought the guy had something. I remember it because he was not one of the CFAs I'd heard anything about at the time, so it caught my attention.

The fan overreaction is a bit silly, but then, our fans do overreact to winning about the same way they overreact to losing. If this team starts out hot, we'll be talking Suberbowls within three weeks.

It is normal at this time of year for this reactions. Heath has been talked earlier by the media, that zoner missed the initial reports, Matt Johnson has potential and quotes with his name and talent similar to John Lynch seem to keep his candle burning. It would hurt if we cut him and he puts it together for the Giants or Eagles. Similar to Eric Walden in my book not Jimmy Smith.

Heath was mentioned by broad dud in tweets

Although I was not impressed with his safety play.

Watch against the first team offense in the 3rd and he's McCray like. They just matched down the field. Only holloman looked like he could hang. Of course if he was good now it would be obvious it's more of his potential and safety play.

I gotta go watch Miami again and see if Matt was better

Made a nice break on the pass at the end of the second half.. bobbled it a bit or it would've been an INT.

I think the fact that you aren't hearing much about him shows that he's doing a good job in coverage.

Worse logic ever, and it gets repeated every year here. When will this stop? I can go back to previous years threads and the same was said about sensabaugh. Ridiculous. You don't hear him because he's not good! My goodness

Zib would be a player we could bring in here to push out McCray and the guy could actually play some D as a backup

"Worst"

..is the word you were looking for, i believe.

I guess i must clarify.. we've heard about him in reports, and those suggest he's been solid in coverage so far.

What i meant about not hearing about him, is that we don't hear his name called much during the game.. which means he's not getting beat or thrown at much.

Yes I saw that. An article from 11 days ago talking about how a guy buried behind two rookies the indestructible Johnson and a Frampton got a chance to play not because his play demanded it but because of a death and injuries. Definitely describes someone who has been tearing it up since OTAs.

Come on man.

I really don't know what you are expecting. The guy was a huge long shot to make the team and has steadily shown more and more as the offseason has progressed. Did you think that day one he would show up and the whole Dallas media would start writing articles about our big new star? Even if the scouts and team loved him (which it seems like they had a pretty high opinion of him) do you think the writers are jumping at the chance to write an article about the guy before he has shown anything that would make fans take notice? Why on earth would any writer post anything more than a twitter response about him looking good or a quote from a scout to watch for the guy until he showed up in a game or at practice in a big way?

Also, death and injuries might have been what gave him a shot but he has made the most of it. I'm not saying he will be a starter for us (hell, he might not even make the team) but he has at least flashed some ability and stayed on the field.

Heath had been mentioned at least 4-5 times by Broaddus in practice tweets and not just that he made a play. There were several where he just randomly said that Heath is doing some good things and that it hadn't gone unnoticed.

And no, I am not gonna waste my time searching for it. I know it was posted. If the Lion King wants proof, he can search for it himself.

I think Heath is definitely make a run at one of the final roster spots.

What's even funnier, if you read the SVSU alum article, it points out his play in each of the games...it's not like he hasn't been contributing from day one.

This heath love is amazing. We haven't heard anything about him. Forces a fumble... . Now he is talked about in every thread.

You must not be paying attention because Heath has been getting love from people at training camp since before the 1st preseason game. Ciskowski singled him out early and people have been reporting on him more and more, especially since MJ got hurt

Read all the tc practice tweets. If he was mentioned it was rare. And he certainly wasn't making impact plays.

But if you want to crown him then crown him.

That's bc the practice tweets come from a bunch of know-nothing reporters

Can you point me to the positive press he was getting before this past preseason game? Would certainly like to read up on him.

Seriously.

I wonder what coma i've been in while he was getting all this hype.

Find the article where Ciskowski says he's one of the best UDFAs

1. I'm on my phone so spare me the grammar lessons

2. I know exactly what you meant and my point remains. They don't mention him because he's not doing anything/isn't good. All he did was get a desperation throwlast game and still dropped it. He's a bum like sensi.

We'll see i guess..

Even so, im glad we don't have you on the coaching staff. I think he'll be servicable until Wilcox or Johnson show that they are ready to take over.

Whoa what is up with the MJ hate ? This guy will be on the roster this year . Actually I was please with his play during the the hof game. He was always around the ball. Besides the Cowboys love him too much to cut him in year 2.

Because hes a waste of a roster spot. Didnt play a down last year and wont play a down this year. Hopefully cause hes cut for heath but he wont play a down if by some miracle he makes the 53. He hasnt showed anything in his play besides a jag that cant cover and cant be healthy

Yeah just like we didn't hear much about Hamlin or Elam.

Look where that got us, I mean no coverage issues with those guys huh?

and yeah nice pass break up, McCray has done that a few times also...he's great in coverage, no?

Elam was a SS.. coverage was never his strong suit.. just like Church won't be very good in coverage.

The good thing is.. playing alot of cover 2 and tampa 2.. you really don't have to be a rocket scientist or even supremely athletic to be solid in coverage. You play your half of the field and if anyone comes in your zone, you keep them in front of you and between you and the CB underneath.. make sure the WR doesn't catch the ball.

I feel confident that Allen can handle that task and be servicable until Wilcox or Johnson is ready to step up. (Hopefully both.)

Hopefully some of that Allen confidence can grow on me as the season starts
