Enough

I remember a bunch of these "realist" posts last year after the Denver game, too. They "knew" that this team was hopeless and we were just playing out the string to a disastrous .500 year at best. And anyone who said otherwise was a brainless, Kool-Aid drinking homer who refused to see all the fatal flaws in this team.

Here ya go ......

Same people .......

Thanks anyway but I don't need the vindication or approval.

Keep up with the endless posts telling everyone how they 'don't get it' or 'don't understand the game' because they don't agree with how you see it.

A real service to all.

If you're happy with the franchise's longest championship drought, more power to ya, other people have higher standards for their favorite team.

Keep telling everyone how clueless they are while the team keeps spinning its' wheels and wasting its' talent.

Talent who would not be here without the same people you would have fired. The players did not draft themselfs nor did they sign themselfs to contracts. You are not the only one who want a championship and really don't see how going off on rants change anything.

Continues is right - it was here well before Sunday...

Here's the thing - you are always going to have the over-reactors who want to cut Choice or fire Wade one game into the season (I am on board with his ejection, but not mid season), or firing Garrett and replacing him with the special teams coach (!?!?!), or other ridiculous knee-jerk responses...

But I would respond, in the spirit of your topic, "enough", that as frustrated as you are with the above nincompoopery, that alot of fans are equally grated, saying "enough" to a team that is addled, slovenly, unprepared, happy-go-lucky, and far less than the sum of it's parts should be.
Great post!!!

IMO, comparing the discussion that has taken place over the last two days to that is a bit of a reach.

...and yet the calls for Choice, Garrett, Wade, etc. are not out of proportion?

I think I've tried to remain relatively level headed throughout this loss, but some of the suggestions I've seen after a WEEK ONE loss have very much deserved a response in kind to the Denver loss. I'm in no way suggesting that the sense of doom is as bad as a whole....but I don't discriminate from one stupid post to another, and IMO we've seen some pretty stupid stuff over the course of the last three days.

Again, I'd like to know what you think I have said that was out of line? Maybe I can try to see it from a different perspective.

I have never once said I am happy with the drought. Not once. Not ever.

But I at least know how hard it is to get there and don't run around shouting at the moon over a single loss.

Disguising it as same thing we've always seen is just a bunch of nonsense.

I've shown you a few post above this one. You probably know me well enough to know I am not going to attempt to control your mind by posting endless back & forth responses in a meager attempt to bring you to my side. Have a lovely day.

Don't expect an answer that you can actually glean anything from.

Who said anything about winning a Super Bowl? I'd like to see this team play in an NFC championship game, and win or lose, look like we belong.
And you know that won't happen this year... How? Because we lost the first game of the year?

LOL.

No, because back in 2008 we had a game with 12 penalties. It was not similar in score or outcome to Sunday where a holding penalty prevented an amazing come from behind win, but there were 12 penalties. We just can't get away from 12 penalties. Open your eyes. You just have to watch the games from a self proclaimed realist perspective.

Cowboys fans are so spoiled. We were damn lucky to experience all the wins and the championships from the Landry and Jimmy days, but they mean nothing today. Yet some people act like there should be some carryover and they are owed wins. Guess what? We aren't.

Some people like me with "low standards" want to make the playoffs, get in the tournament (as Parcells said) and see what happens. If it does happen, it will be a lot of fun along the way. That's no less a reasonable outlook than the "Superbowl or cry like a *****" crowd. Actually, it's a lot more reasonable.

Great post. But what the whiners and complainers forget is that even back in the day the Cowboys didn't just dominate the league and waltz into the Super Bowl. And the same kind of *******es who are braying today were hee-hawing about how much the team sucked, Landry ought to be fired, and they virtually booed Meredith right out of town.

1966--Season ends in the NFL Championship with Meredith throwing a 4th down INT in the endzone. (Boo! Get rid of Meredith!)

1967--Bart Starr sneaks the ball across the goal line with 13 seconds left (obviously the defense lacks heart. Get rid of those losers like Jethro Pugh, fire Landry because that defense chokes).

1968--Lose to Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs to Cleveland 31-20 (Meredith sucks, Landry sucks, blow up the team and start over)

1969--Lose to Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs 38-14 (Fire Landry! Blow up the team and start all over!)

1970--Lose Super Bowl V on last second kick by Jim O'Brien. (Fire Landry! Team can't win the Big One.)

Now of course, these teams, and Landry, are immortals who never did anything wrong in the minds of the weak-minded. Why can't the current Cowboys be more like them?

You know me well. You can't convince those that don't want to be convinced. Not possible. He can glean all he wants from that. This board can be amazing at time and equally ridiculous. It's all good though.

...and here I was genuinely attempting to try and see you point of view. Sorry, didnt' mean to ask so much of you.

BTW, I didn't mention the Denver loss. I simply stated that I remember the over-reaction to it. How is that out of line? Oops...sorry, did it again. I'll try not to ask so much from you.

...if you're going to call me out, at least have the stones to back your **** up.

Perhaps it is "enough" with the negativity if we can also stop with the It's justs.

It's just one game against Minnesota.

It's just preseason.

It's just that the team is tired.

It's just the first game of the season.

It's just a rivalry game at night.

The harsh reality is the starting offense has not played a in some while now, and the they truly are a good offense, they need to overcome whatever extenuating circumstances are facing them and play well enough to win, like other good offenses in the league.

Would it kill some people to acknowledge a possible problem here? Such as an admission doesn't mean the problem can't be repaired, only that it's there.

I was honestly asking your opinion. You didn't glean **** from anything....how am I supposed to "glean all I want" from nothing?

Ridiculous is right.

Oh, so without ever answering him he can't be convinced. Point a finger at him and then don't try to explain it.

Yeah, I know you well.

I'll be the first one to bow before you and kiss your feet if this season ends any differently than it has here recently. Not saying we have to win the Superbowl. I realize there are 31 other teams in the league trying for the same thing. But if we can magically stop playing mistake riddled football topped off with dumb mistake after dumb mistake I will kiss your feet. I just don't see it happening, it's a trend for us.

Until I see it, I won't believe it, and pumping sunshine isn't getting us any closer. BTW, it just isn't the loss, but the way this team loses. It's been on going, different year, same results.

My **** was backed up. You and CL attempted to compare the discussion on the board over the last two days to the spontaneous combustion that happened after the Denver game last year. All just so you could hopefully peg people that are attempting to get over a win on a board they enjoy as whiners, criers, realists, etc etc blah blah blah. I originally felt the move was weak and.. wait.. let me check.... Yep. Still do.
