After a quick glance I believe we only have players from 2014. 2016 and 2017 left from last decade. And it's a combined 4 players.

Most are still in the NFL or contributed to teams as starters after leaving the Jonesboys. Except for Armstrong, the players that were on the Jonesboys roster should not have been on the roster. So your problem is your dumbo GM.

Why? Those are 7 players who are in the NFL today. One of the 4th rounders just signed a multi year deal with the Texans. McClay did a fine job that draft.

For a team that relies heavily on its own players thru the draft this is horrible. LVE was such a breath of fresh air at LBer when he came in, thought he'd be a staple in the middle the next decade like Urlacher.

Add in the complete mess of a draft last year and it's not looking good. Cowboys will be forced to sign FA players in the coming years to be able to compete.

Maybe drafting guys with a bad injury history isn't the "deal" you thought it was?

Not a bad draft, but LVE ending up like he did really hurt this team. He should be a pillar on this defense right now. Injuries cut his career short, obviously…..

I wonder how unusual this is? I looked at our NFCE rivals 2018 draft to compare:

Dallas: 9 picks, 2 no longer in the NFL, none on the Cowboys
New York Giants: 7 picks, 3 no longer in the NFL, none on the Giants, their best pick that year now on the Eagles (Barkley)
Washington Whatevers: 9 picks, 5 no longer in the NFL, only one still on the team (Deron Payne)
Philly: 5 picks, 4 starters (Goedart, Sweat, Maddox, Mailata), one starting for another team (OT Pryor)
