I wont disagree with you, everything you said is accurate. I will argue that really how many teams are better than Pittsburgh, Green Bay, or Philly? They are sitting right around .500, but so is the majority of the league. I feel like unless we play a team like New England, Seattle, or maybe an Oakland we are simply playing mediocracy. Baltimore falls right into that same category.

Yeah this year there seems to be a lack of many truly great and even very very good teams.

That's a good thing. Pointing that out is triggering people. I guess because everything needs to be blsck or white. Taking a nuanced view in this society of "hot takes" is a fading ideal.

Well good luck buying into this team...

And another one falls into the national narrative.

Perhaps because of the league's mediocrity, that may make us an elite team this year. Speaking of "nuance"

Or maybe I missed the memo, I should be reserved and rigid all season and not enjoy this team and hype them up. You tell me, Zoners, how should I root for my Cowboys?
Nobody is saying don't be excited. And look you can be as hyperbolic as you want. It doesn't impact the team. But when a rationale statement like Weddle's is met with such scorn... That's... Not good.

If you think eeking out an OT win and them falling behind in a game with 42 seconds left somehow puts us in some type of elite category... Well knock yourself out like your boxing yourself.

Historically you win 50 percent of your 1 score games.

Where am I using hyperbole? I also affirmed everything Weddle said. Being confident and also agreeing with Weddle aren't mutually exclusive.

You're one of my favorite posters, Toruk, I hope we can discuss this with class.

Being 8-1 puts us in an elite category. Or are the raiders, with their d elite? The broncos with their QB?

Pats, SEA, DAL elite in an off year of NFL football

I fully buy into this team. You don't go 8-1 by accident. I was arguing that aside from New England and Seattle who I would consider in the elite class of the NFL we have beaten teams of the next tier. I think we will have a true "test" down the road, but its not this week. Baltimore is not in the same class as Dallas, and I would be shocked if we lost this week. No doubt in my mind we are a top 5 team, its just a matter of where in that top 5 we really rank.

Eeking out a win in PIT is pretty damn impressive. The way it went down, everything. Add to that the dominance of the GB and CIN games, where all we heard was how Dak/Zeke would be exposed, makes us pretty damned formidable. Plus the perseverance to come back and take that Eagles game.

Yeah, I'm hype.

Well said, Mr Pimp. I can't disagree.

Love how cocky we've all become with a few wins under our belts.

Everything he said is true. You expect him to get on the radio and start declaring that the Ravens have no chance and he wishes he could just stay home on Sunday?

What's funny is the game thread during the Steelers game was filled with comments about how the Cowboys are frauds.

Not from me, 187. And I am not a homer, despite how it looks. This team deserves our trust for the full 60 minutes this season

Oh, how I look forward to the day when a complement about Dak Prescott is not followed by the obligatory "but...." statement.
