What's funny is the game thread during the Steelers game was filled with comments about how the Cowboys are frauds.
So true. If Jason Garrett read the game threads and made the suggested changes Alfred Morris would be the starter, Dez traded, Terrance Williams cut, Ron Leary traded, Greg Hardy is on the active roster, Byron Jones benches for a lack of INTs, fired Marinelli for a more aggressive coordinator, stopped playing home games at at&t stadium due to sunlight, fired himself, and talked Jerry into selling the team.....I think Tim Tebow fits into the equation somewhere as well.

You're being disingenuous and disrespectful to our club who has slaughtered some decent teams coming into our games this year -- and the club is ******* 8-1. At this point it's fair for the fandom to be pumped up... or don't, but stop with the hyperbole. And don't **** on our parade. Respectfully...
Wait, I'm the one being hyperbolic? There were tons of people last week saying that Pittsburgh had zero chance to hang with us, that we were going to slaughter them. Not the case. Now people are saying all the same stuff about this game. We're a very good team and we're playing well, but it's not like we're the '07 Patriots, just tearing through our schedule like a hot knife through butter. The Ravens game is not a gimme. There's a ton of hyperbole to be found in this thread, but none of it is coming from me. Respectfully.

Respectfully... and I apologize for the way I came off, Jim, I just think the fandom has a right to be excited and hyped for this team, for the first time in a great while. I was incredibly reserved in 2014, but this year is different. Even those close wins at home stadiums are a dominance of sorts, Jim. Dominance can be shown in the form of team-moxie and clutch performances. I have followed two other teams from two other leagues religiously, with a combined three championships in the last 13 years (2 in the last 4), and I can draw a lot of parallels to those teams and this one, and that isn't hyperbole.

Weddle's said comments shouldn't be brushed off, that's ignorance -- and demeaning what he said is trite. But beyond that, we can be super-pumped (is that even a phrase, lol) for our team.

Again, respectfully, Jim. I'm sorry for the way I came across in my original OP to you, I was more just irritated with the overall tone of the thread.

Go Cowboys, kill the Ravens.

First of all: Go Cowboys, kill the Ravens! We can all get behind that.

Of course we can and should get excited and hyped about the team. I just find the wildness of the mood swings in this place hilarious, and I try to be clear-eyed. I mean, people are crowing in another thread about how the Eagles are nothing, and they took us to overtime just 3 weeks ago.

You judge the quality of a team by who they blow out, who they play close, and who blows them out.
Great teams blow out weaker opponents and never get blown out themselves. They play closer to .500 in the close games (this is obvious: if you never get blown out, the only games you lose are the close ones). Who wins the close games tells you less about your team than the fact that they were close games.

We've blown out four opponents and been blown out zero times. That's a great great indicator of our strength.
We played tight games against the Eagles, Steelers, Commanders, and Giants. Those teams can beat us if a few balls bounce their way. We're better than them based on how they've done in their other games, but we're not leaps and bounds ahead of them, at least not yet. We also played a tight game against the 49ers, but we dominated that one after the first quarter.

The Ravens are in the same mix as the teams we played tight (and the Packers and Bengals). If we blow them out, that's a great sign. If it's a nailbiter, no matter who wins, we look about the same as we do now. It's not like we're likely to go 15-1 this season.

I'm with Trouty. Enjoy the ride! We are 8-1! Nobody expected this. I think we deserve to walk with a little swag as fans. Sure, things could change in a moment, but as of right now, we are on top of the NFL and I think it's ok to love that!

Who was it that said something about Dak playing against vanilla defenses and we went out and showed them up...now Weddle wants to mouth off about vanilla defenses...glad we didn't sign this goof....

He's not saying anything about us playing only vanilla defenses so far, what he is saying is that when you have a great OL and RB, it forces teams to play vanilla defense on 3rd downs...

He then said that if they can keep Dallas in 3rd and long, then they can try and get multiple looks that Dak has to work with..
