Carter starts off the season, struggles, Sims works in a limited role. Thrives. Sims gets bumped to starter, struggles, Carter works in a limited role. Thrives. Nobody can claim this job, and in the off-season we were all worried about the strong side lol

I suspect Carter just isn't showing when they want to see in practice at this point.

Another example of the mismanagement of this roster.

I disagree. Carter is obviously the better player, however, Carter frankly was very bad in the beginning of the season and the coaching staff decided to motivate him by benching him. It stings. I think he'll end up better for it. The ceiling for Carter is very high, however, he entitled to NOTHING without working hard for it.

It's interesting because at UNC, this was the book on Carter. He started strong early, then he didn't play up to his capabilities and then got injured. Let's hope he comes around.

This guy was horrible and couldn't stop a fly out there! Bruce Carter needs to be on the field period point blank.

He missed a few plays but I think he's more physical and they wanted this against Adrian Peterson today. Sims is an excellent LB, and has been better then Carter thus far. Carter has more upside and is great off the edge blitzing but he's been a liability in pass coverage.

Would he do the same to Witten or Dez or Lee for that matter. All have struggled In games without ridicule. This has everything to do with Sims HUSTLE IN PRACTICE cuz he's not making plays during the game. Dez ran wrong routes his 1st 3 seasons without being benched. Witten dropped every pass thrown his way to start last season. Lee couldn't guard a te to save his life earlier this season, no benching. Kinda weird they would try to prove a meaningless point when it doesn't apply to others. Sims looks pretty flying around I practice like he has no regard for human life I. A controlled setting. Then once the lights come on, he's over running plays, getting cooked in the passing game and overall just looking like A JAG!

Ok, you make a pretty good point. Why is Carter benched for poor performance and not others?

My guess is the answer is with the others, there wasn't a suitable alternative so temporary benching wasn't an option.

I would completely agree with you if that were the case when Robinson was here with Miles as suitable replacements for Dez. I'm all for coaches benching a player for poor production, I'd just rather there point be driven home by the replacement players performance. I could take sims replacing Bruce from an injury but I'd rather see someone like Holloman replace Bruce because he's an upstart that could really threaten Bruce's spot in the long run. I know Holloman is a SLB but the point is I don't think starting a journeymen JAG over Bruce send home their message like starting a young buck could!

Wasnt Bruce a great player at some point this season? what happened, all i kept reading was how great he was and what a motor he had , how he can part the seas, cure poverty, so on and so forth. Who has the kryptonite?
