Another example of the mismanagement of this roster.

Specifically Eberflus the LB coach, who was quoted today about the LBers. He said he is still trying to find the right combinations. I expect more from an NFL coach, and I know he has been praised in the past.

Why would you think he would say such a thing?

Because he's clueless?

He has no "feel for the game"? Doesn't know his players? This guy would strategize entire game-plans for Rob Ryan by himself and there are folks here that love RR right now and think he's "All That".

I ask you specifically- in all seriousness. Why do you think he said that? Is he incompetent? Is he dumb? Is he seeing thing we don't?

I ask YOU. I'd ask myself, but I've made no statements about Eberflus because I admit I don't know. I do know that I know much less than he does, but do you have that insight? That wisdom that I cannot attain?

Enlighten me. Enlighten us. I want to bask in someone's divine wisdom. Someone to give me the answers I would dearly love to have.

At least something that tells me whether Eberflus is worthy of his position, or should be ignominiously booted and shame-faced from this franchise.

Something. Anything. Show me the way...

Switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 perhaps? Heck man I am in the same boat you are. I assume the respect he garners from other coaches (I mean, just look at the fact he was kept on board after Rob was axed) to be deserved.

"I'm just trying to find the best combination for our football team at that position," linebackers coach Matt Eberflus said. "I'm still working that out. You got first down, you got second down and you got third down. Both of them have different things they bring to the table in terms of helping our football team, and we're going to work that combination during the course of the game and see what the best thing is for us to win."

"It's all based on combinations," Eberflus said. "I have two solid players, they're both trying to play better, they're still working and they're working their *** off, and we'll find the best combination."

Bruce lee has been solid since his bad outings. Not outstanding, but solid. Made a few good tackles.
Did y'all see how strong he is..he jogged into a player and it was like he got hit by a train..

I can probably count on one hand how many times Bruce Carter has had a clean shot on a player and whiffed it.

I respect your answer.

I don't think the man is some imbecile who does not deserve his post.

It's one thing for a RB to break a tackle, and its another thing for a LB to flat out miss a tackle. And I remember 2 instances where Ernie Sims flat out missed tackles that would've prevented long gains. I also believe it was Sims' ankles who Ponder broke for his rushing TD.

Carter starts off the season, struggles, Sims works in a limited role. Thrives. Sims gets bumped to starter, struggles, Carter works in a limited role. Thrives. Nobody can claim this job, and in the off-season we were all worried about the strong side lol

Sorry but this is bs sims never thrived in anything .

Motivating players is what walkaround coaches do.

I think you got the wrong guy. It was Durant at least twice completely miss tackles. But it was Sims also. I think both are "ok" but Carter is the better tackler by far.

And to the Carter pass coverage issues. Same goes for Lee. I constantly see teams getting matchups that force Lee or Carter into coverage on a WR.
WR>LB 95% of the time. LBers shouldn't be forced into these types of coverage situations.

It's interesting because at UNC, this was the book on Carter. He started strong early, then he didn't play up to his capabilities and then got injured. Let's hope he comes around.

I either read wrong or something because I remember reading that Bruce Carter never came off the field while playing at UNC. I don't think I read anything about him not playing up to his capabilities. He was a stud and I think the only four down backer in major college football. Correct me if I am wrong about that as I am writing this purely from memory. As far as injuries go I know he got injured at UNC at some point his last season their.

I disagree. Carter is obviously the better player, however, Carter frankly was very bad in the beginning of the season and the coaching staff decided to motivate him by benching him. It stings. I think he'll end up better for it. The ceiling for Carter is very high, however, he entitled to NOTHING without working hard for it.
Carter most likely was always one of the most gifted and talented players on the field at each level he has played at. Not really having to work hard to achieve his accolades but now he is learning (I hope anyway) that he has to put forth more effort in his game and study of the game to receive those same accolades at this level. I'm pulling for him.

No, that was the book on him coming out of UNC. There were questions on his motivation or his ability to adjust to scheme. All of those UNC players had questions surrounding them because there was so much talent that never accomplished much defensively.

Sims played arguably the the worst game as a LB i can remember from a Cowboys LB in a long while. Bradie James getting roasted in the passing game a few times is the only thing i can recall rivaling Sims' dismal performance. How do you even watch game film with teammates after that??????

Listening to the Lunch Break guys run Sims into the ground. Saying he has a "Kamikaze attitude," he was responsible for Hatcher's injury; he almost rolled up on Lee's leg last week; one of the most undisciplined players there is, etc. So why is he getting playing time over Carter?

Carter is very good with stopping the run but his main weakness is stoping the pass out of the backfield. Sean Payton is master of using backs, h-backs out of the back field to create mismatches. I would rather concede the run than give up these long pass plays on Carter

Looks like the coaches are still making him pay for that San Diego game. It might be too late for him to get out of the doghouse...Sims was pretty bad yesterday and yet he was still trusted in the 4th quarter. :(

Chris Jones the punter showed better tackling instincts/form on his TD saving tackle of Vikes return man
