With all those warring emotions, it's a wonder more losing it doesn't occur.

I don't know if this Smith guy's 'training' is for the best, or his diagnosis that what fuels rage is getting beat, or his 'treatment', but the whole scenario makes you wonder how these guys are able to turn the 'violence' on and off.

And if cut-blocks are so universally hated by NFL players, why aren't THEY banned, instead of or in addition to horsecollars, etc?"

Good read IMO.

It's a violent game, a game of emotion, and learning to channel that rage has to be difficult I would imagine. I can only imagine the things that occur during a loose ball play or during some of the battles along the line of scrimmage.

I'm with LTN on the chop blocks, why not just outlaw it and be done.

So basically Haynesworth got his feelings hurt and acted like a baby? Nice.

Well if it went down how Hayneworth said it did (which I dont know) then screw it, thats not acting like a baby. I wouldve done something similar. If someone says they're going to try and take my *** out, I'm not letting that go. They're gonna think twice about every saying that again, or even trying it. I dont know about stomping a players face, but I'm gonna their stuff up. Gurode is a coward if this is what really happened.

I'm gonna reserve judgement because we will never know, but if it went down this way, Gurode is more to blame than Haynesworth in my opinion.

Getting upset because someone talks trash during a football game is acting like a baby. Just letting you know.

This is football not a street fight.

Its one of the few games where if someone pisses you off enough you cna get even in a CLEAN manner.

Its a very physical sport... man up and beat the guy in front of you within the rules of the game.

You sir, are nuts. Just like AH.

(better?)

The guy is trying to justify what AH did and even said he blames Gurode more...

If AH accusations against Gurode and his so-called cut black the league would have found this on tape and handed out a fine.

Just like they did with the Broncos/Chargers game dealing with Nalen and Ochansky (sp?) or whoever was involved.

The guy took some crap verbally and physically and lost control.

He deserved the punishment and the shame that went with what he did.

Is that the way you perceive it ?

I just think you are calling out a guy for no real reason. Sorry if that gets your panties in a wad.

But there was no call for you to call him an idiot when in fact he was just stating an opinion.

I wont defend Haynesworth ever. I felt what he did was completely disrespectful to the game. I havent read the article at all, but I know that what I witnessed is not the way (usually) an adult should deal with a situation.

theres no need to defend your self, i've read the article. Fat Albert is to blame.

you can't attack someone and go "ohh well he did this and that. So i did what i thought was right and attacked him"

what if his spikes hit Gurode's Eye causing his carrerr? do you think Albert would still be playing?

Well there are people in this world that are <insert word here>.

Those who think words should translate into violence like that are these people.

Try telling Darrent Williams' family that whoever killed their son over a VERBAL dispute arent <insert word here>.

If the altercation that took place on the field between Gurode and Haynesworth happened on the streets or a club someone could have been much more hurt or dead.

This is in fact is idiotic.

He is now called "nuts" now by me so he wont he know about that other word ;)

I am sure some people consider me an <insert word here>.

Personally, I dont give a flying < insert word here>.

But at the same time, that doesnt entitle me to be a vigilante. Hell, I would love to live my life as Batman.

As far as how it all went down, I think we are on the same page.
