"Michaels, who will also appear on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, NFL PrimeTime and SportsCenter, will be joined by analyst Joe Theisman in the booth, with Suzy Kolber and Michelle Tafoya reporting from the sidelines."

This means some of the current analysts may be leaving (possibly). I wonder will it be studio or live from the game site.

Kinda funny... yesterday on Sirus' Afternoon Blitz, a caller asked Riggins if he and Theismann were friends.

Riggo's answer? A very prompt and terse "No"

Sounds like ABC wants to schedule its hit TV show "Lost" on Mondays before MNF at 9:00. The execs at ABC said they want fans of Lost to continue to be mystified and clueless each week, so now fans can just keep the channel on ABC and tune in the new MNF broadcast crew and perhaps remain clueless for all of primetime Monday evenings. :(

NFL | Monday Night Football Crew Completed
Tue, 26 Jul 2005 12:59:39 -0700

ESPN.com reports in addition to the previously reported Al Michaels, Joe Theismann will join the Monday Night Football broadcast crew on ESPN as the color analyst. Suzy Kolber and Michelle Tafoya will serve as sideline reporters. "Monday Night Football and ESPN are the two biggest game changers in our industry in the last 30 years, and we have assembled a talent and production team that will reflect that," ESPN President George Bodenheimer said in the statement. "This team is a true collaboration of ESPN and ABC Sports, and clearly demonstrates the strength and promise of what our company can deliver." Michaels will also appear on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, NFL Prime Time and Sports Center.

George Bodenheimer lives in my small town in connecticut. His daughter is in my grade and im going to school with her at syracuse in the fall. George is a great guy, started working at espn in the mail room and worked his way up all the way to the top of espn and abc sports.

Could have been worse.

They could have put Paul Maguire in there with 'em.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I consider it a victory of sorts since that jackhole won't be doing the games (even though he'll probably be even holier-than-thou in the studio).

Yuck.

Al Michaels is a chronic whiner and Joe Theisman is annoyance personified.

Nice job ESPN!!!

Michaels is the biggest 9er homer/Dallas hater of all time.

He makes Theismann look like a Cowboy fan.

:ralph:

I was right, it will be dutch-door action for Cowboy fans on Monday nights.

My brother also works for espn, he sells the commercial blocks. And george probably wouldnt care about my input. It's a business im sure they made the best business decision, based off money and potential profit.
