Romo never came close to an NFCCG.
Actually he did. Dez catches that ball instead of reaching for the end zone they then go to Seattle who he beat earlier in the year (another thing Dak wouldn’t be able to do). Dak on the other hand hasn’t come close because he’s played terrible in every divisional game he’s played.

Romo was a better QB. There really is no comparison. Jerry was an absolute dumbazz through that era and the team was in disarray for most of his time here.

Romo’s defense gave up 20 points a game in 2007. All he had to do was score 21 to win. And he did because they won 13 games…just to lose to the dog butted Giants. Now please explain to me how Dak losing to the Packers this year is different than Romo losing to the Giants in 2007? Oh wait they actually had a bye…and still lost.
They're the same. Neither getting it done in the end.

KJJ always adds those games to make him look worse. I believe all of those games were on the road with middling teams with porous offensive lines that only had a chance to go the playoffs because of Romo. This idea that Romo is a choker is just a myth. He had 24 game winning drives in the 4th quarter and one of the highest ratings in them.
Overall he excelled at the end of games and playing behind. While Dak has been terrible playing from behind. That tells it all. And yes those were bad teams he was on that would have won two games without him.

Yes it does. It means Romo didn’t fold under pressure in many games to pull out a victory. That is contrary to what it means to be a “choker”. Romo having some playoff record doesn’t say anything about his individual play, the quality and play rest of the team, the coaching staff, the quality and play of the opponents, etc. When someone says Romo didn’t get us anywhere either in the playoffs because someone is offended that Dak’s record is the same (and now worse), that is an epitome of decontextualization.
Ding ding ding. Spot on

I can't believe that 8 years later we are still discussing Dak vs Romo. Maybe that is the real fact that we should all agree on.

If we are still comparing Romo to Dak.. it means that Dak has not stamped his authority on this team. Dak has had better teams, better defences and has done less with more.

But there shouldn't be a comparison.. if Dak was an elite QB then this debate would no longer exist. End of story. The reality is that they are both flawed QBs but Romo was better by an absolute country mile.

Romo's only year with a top 10 scoring defense was in 2009. The Cowboys defense was better in the 2007 regular season compared to the Giants, but the Giants turned it on in the playoffs in a way that neither Romo or Dak have experienced.
That 2007 defense was smoke and mirrors. They have Eli a touchdown in 43 seconds after Romo led a 16 play TD drive.

Yep.. our defence from 2006-2009 was all time historically bad..

No, Romo had many game killing ints in games to get us into the playoffs. How soon we forget.
I remember that but Romo also had a lot of game winning drives too, just as Dak has. We just tend to remember the negatives with both guys.

Dak is the new Matthew Stafford.
Im what freaking universe?!!

How can you watch a game of young Stafford on the lions with no defense, running game and come up with this conclusion?!

If anything, Stafford was a more talented Tony Romo because they play the same way gunslingers with reckless abandon.

What Dak is is the new Alex Smith/ Andy Dalton.

Stafford went and got his ring and still has to face this disrespect. Stafford can throw the ball.. was on a junk team.. just like so many highly rated young QBs who get drafted to loser teams (that is how a parity league works).

Never fair to see Dak compared to these guys that literally had to start their career standing behind turnstiles, with no run support and having to throw to practise squad level receivers.. meanwhile on teams with defences that are giving up 30+ most games. Then the media calling them busts because they can't do it.

Reason why we are seeing a lot of these former top 10 picks doing really really well on their second teams.. when they actually get a fair shot at it.

People need to remember that Rush went 4-1 with this team.. in fact guys replacing Dak have gone 5-1 over the last three seasons.. literally proving that ANYONE can look good as QB of the Cowboys right now.

They were decent. All ranked in the 8-12 range in total D
nothing like that 2013, 32nd ranked D….lol
Worst in Dallas history

This year’s D ranked 5thin total D…so higher than any in the Romo era.
We see where that got us. Ouch

He didnt just have “a lot” of game winning drives, He had THE MOST game winning drives in the NFL his last 7 years as a starter.
Very exact opposite of a choker..
The exact opposite

Doesn’t matter. Giants sucked even in the game we faced it wasn’t like we got dominated. We just choked. We should’ve beat them.

There’s a huge difference in losing to a team that wins a championship and losing to a 7 seed who loses in the next round and anyone can see that

We would have lost that game anyway and I think Dez caught it. More than enough time for AR to score again.
