Canty's stock on the rise: Cowboys defensive end Chris Canty remains an interesting free agent. More teams are going to 3-4 schemes and that should enhance his value. Canty is not close to a deal with the Cowboys at the moment. Despite being drafted by Bill Parcells, don't expect the Dolphins to bid on him; Miami is content with its current crop of young defensive ends. Canty should enjoy a good market, but the Cowboys still have time to work out a deal.

This is Clayton trying to connect some dots and create a story.

Because of this, then that.

Whatever you say Johnny.

Maybe so but it sounds very logical to me though. Supply and demand. There are more teams now that are looking for players that fit the 3-4 scheme, therefore, there is more demand for Canty and others like him.

Say bye bye,,, good as gone, or is that good is gone.

actually, it's more like there aren't many quality DEs like Canty (supply), so the demand for him is high;)

What he said.

I guess. He was absolutely dreadful in the first half of the season. In the second half he was decent.

Good as.

I think he'll end up in KC.

:star: It wouldn't surprise me at all if he does end up in KC. New England was supposedly quite interested in Canty on draft day, but we got him first, and now that Pioli is in charge in KC, I won't be at all surprised to see him end up in KC.

Yep.

If he goes or if he stays is largely dependent on if we want him to stay or go. This is a typical grasp at straws statement from BSPN. :espn:

Perhaps, but so far Pioli is being extremely tight lipped about the off season plans for the Chiefs. The media speculation is absolutely priceless however.

Here's my reasoning.

Moving to the 3-4 therefore needing guys who fit the scheme.

Most money to spend among the 3-4 teams.

2+2=6

See how gooder I am at Math.

For some reason, I find myself reacting to FA and the draft different than I usually do this time of year. Normally, I would see the boatload of picks we have and the relatively few spots and want Jerry to trade up and out of some of those picks. I'm just not feeling that this year. I say stay put -- play it conservatively. And normally I want us to go ahead and sign guys like Canty -- good things cost money and no doubt Olshansky would cost pretty much just as much. But this year I don't really care. Let 'em walk.

Speaking of tight lipped, What kind of GM would silence his head coach? Haley is a spineless puppet

In yet another signal of the culture change in Kansas City, new Chiefs coach Todd Haley has buttoned his lip, according to Mike Sando of ESPN.com.

In contrast to Haley’s willingness to outline behind-the-scenes information when he was the Arizona Cardinals’ offensive coordinator, including a gadget play for a Larry Fitzgerald touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, Haley is extremely guarded now.

Of course, that change in media style fits in with Chiefs General Manager Scott Pioli’s ultra-secretive approach.

During Haley’s press conference with reporters, Pioli actually stood close by and monitored the interview session.

To top off the obvious discouragement from saying too much, in Pioli’s opinion, Pioli “at one point held up his watch and tapped it,” when Haley put in some extra time with reporters after his podium session was over.
Remember, Pioli comes from the Bill Belichick school of thought. Is it paranoid or smart? The New England Patriots’ collection of Super Bowl trophies will make most people lean toward the latter.

Either way, an information lockdown is the new way of doing things in Kansas City under Pioli’s direction. Mum’s the word.

he gone. don't know and don't care where really. just hope it isn't in our division.
