ESPN: Colombo resigns with the Cowboys

They will not sign a vet tackle. I'd bet money on that.

McQ is the 3rd tackle at this point and will remain so this season.

Dallas will likely draft a tackle during day-2 and "red-shirt" him much like they did McQ.

well the future LT is probably already in dallas. lol so ur probably right. and that guy isnt McQ. most likely davis. i dont know how that would fit, but i think thats the next guy

i wouldnt call him anything but a scrub until he actually gets to prove he's even a worthy backup while on the field. now the only way he'll do that is by injury so hopefully that doesnt happen. but im willin to bet with flo probably in his last yr in dallas. dallas will look to sign another vet tackle or move davis to LT rather then play mcQ.

Well I'm nicer than you...:)

I think we add some more depth to the OL either via the draft or through FA.

I remember JJ saying after the last game of the season in 2002 in which Washington had just beat the holy out of us........That he would make sure the OL would never be short of players again. (paraphrased)

I think he meant it.

then go out and get players. not projects. sooner or later dallas is going to have injuries. as we all seen. and in the past 4 yrs i havent seen dallas be able to survive a injury.

oh ............hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very glad to hear Colombo is back. Our line should be pretty solid.

C-Andre Gurode
LT-Flozell Adams
LG-Kyle Kosier
RT-Marc Colombo
RG-Leonard Davis

Now if only we didn't cut Larry Allen. If he was still here, this line would arguably be one of the best in the league.

Just a question... should we be thinking about McQuistan to replace Kosier too? Let Kosier backup

Come'on!

That is not going to happen!

Kosier played well. Ask Rich for God's sakes. Kosier's numbers were more than acceptable.

why is it out of the question? get a nice young guy in there(strong) and he could be protected by the GOOD vets on the line... just a thought...

Because McQ is going to be the swing tackle next year and the heir apparent to Flozell in '08. He'll get to play a bunch in the preseason and I would guess he'll get snaps during the season too.

Why punish Kosier? The guy played well at guard.

The OL was the demise of the Parcell's era, let's hope it will be responsible for our renewed prosperity in the Philip's era.

I disagree with this statement.

Our Offense played very well last season.

In fact, Sparano [O Line Coach/Coordinator in 2006] was one of the few coaches to stay, and was also promoted to Assistant Head Coach.

He'll be running our Offense this season.

Please check your facts.

Is that the plan? I didnt know - thanks...

Didnt Kosier get pushed back into the QB too? (ala Rivera)... I dont remember

Our O-line played pretty bad last season. Tony Romo disguised their subpar play with his athleticism.

"Tony Romo for Prez."

Could you please tell me which of them "played pretty bad" last season?

You could make a case for Rivera, but I wont blame him for being crippled.

Any of our guys in the Pro Bowl? I believe so.

Also, JJ had his first 1000 yd season and Barber had 16+ RUSHING TDs

Again, our OLINE coach from last season is now our Assistant Head Coach.

I believe our O-Line is not a huge problem at the moment.

Well, I guess if a couple of them made the Pro Bowl, they must have been good. Sorry, what was I thinking?

This is great news about Colombo. Now I feel much better about the Oline. All is well.

This is a great move.

It really solidifies our OL. Kosier is a solid starter, Flozell is a pretty good LT still, Gurode was good, and Columbo was pretty good as well.

Rivera was a weak link and Davis should be able to play better than Rivera.

Our OL isn't great by any means...but its shaping up nicely.

And more importantly, we do not have any glaring needs offensively as we head into the draft. Sure, a OL player to develop, a young WR are desirable and will eventually be needed.....but its not a glaring need.

We are going to head into this draft with solid starters everywhere and a real chance to stick to the draft board and draft best player available without a ton of concern into fixing particular areas of our team.

This is going to be something special....we are going to be good next year. Normally I am pessimistic about every sports team I follow...but I am really expecting some great things next year.

that's not a smart thing to say since all indications are that the staff is high on McQ

He should get a lot of playing time in preseason. I'm very anxious to see how he does.
