A few posters/fans were high on him......it doesn't appear to be too serious but it will still set him back a bit

Commanders' Johnny Newton to have surgery on left foot

ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Commanders second-round pick Johnny Newton will undergo surgery within a week to repair an injury to his left foot -- about four months after the defensive tackle had a procedure done for a similar injury on his right foot.

Newton suffered a partial Jones fracture of his right foot sometime during the past season at Illinois and underwent surgery in January. During a recent checkup on the repaired foot -- it's uncertain when that occurred -- Commanders coach Dan Quinn said doctors determined he had a similar issue with his left foot.

Newton did not participate in Washington's rookie minicamp practices this weekend, standing off to the side and wearing a walking boot on his left foot.

It's going to happen to just about every team.

I really do wonder how many times in history when a team's projected starting lineup as well as their new class of draft picks have perfectly healthy preseasons.

I can tell you it has never happened to the Cowboys in the 54 years I've been a fan.

This is probably why he fell to the 2nd rd

Same broken bone cracks requiring surgery now in both feet ... at his size for a defensive tackle? Not good.

So glad the Cowboys didn't take him.

With the Cowboys staying clear from drafting pre-injured college players in 2024, it might be a sign they have learned their lessons from the LVE, Jaylon Smith, Sean Lee types of college players.

Isn’t that what Dez had?
CORRECT:

"X-rays would later reveal Bryant had suffered a Jones Fracture. He broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot and it soon required surgery.

After failing to produce similar numbers to his previous Pro Bowl season, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant admits an early foot injury played with his mind.

I don't see why we didn't draft him!!!!!!!! lol

This kid already has foot issues. Both feet. Not a good sign going forward. Couldn't have happened to a better team. Thats karma DQ.

Thanks

Despite being a Commanders player, I hope he heals up well. Those foot injuries can be difficult to heal.
