Excuse my ignorance..

But what is the purpose of this? I know what the Cowboys are claiming. But how does it help the grand scheme of things?

I thought at this point, it was all about whether the nfl screwed up the process in how they handled the investigation, no? Whether he's guilty or not at this point doesn't really matter, according to article 46..so how does this case help prove the nfl screwed up the investigation?

I think EE and the Cowboys had to file early based on the box the NFL was putting Henderson in

They clearly were pushing for a decision by Tuesday...... even after a 25 hour appeal hearing that was scheduled to last 6 hours...... the arbitrator took 5 weeks to give the verdict in the Brady case

If the NFL ruled at 4pm on Tuesday EE might not be able to get an injunction held before Week 1....... this assures he gets heard

Plus they got it in the 5th District in Texas and not Manhattan............ make them Yankees come to Texas for all the hearings

Best owner in sports, whether people like it or not. He's loyal to his players to fault sometimes.
I'd run through walls of flaming... whatever you fear, for him.
Dog poo, or something.

Eh...not a fan of the Cowboys counsel Jason Cohen saying that losing Elliott for 6 games causes "irreparable harm" to the Cowboys' 2017 season. If he is guilty of DV-- he needs to serve the suspension. If he is innocent then he needs to be exonerated.

Talking about the effects on the franchise is secondary or tertiary at this point. Stay on topic counselor and focus on the fact that this was an unjust and unfair process-- regardless of who the player is or who he plays for-- this kind of treatment by the league office is unwarranted and should not be tolerated.

The Cowboys can't file a motion for Zeke so they filed this motion for the organization and they must state why they are filing. Its actually a very good move for them to attached themselves to Zeke's motion to pile on.

Harm is key to an injunction judgment. This is a legal proceeding not a moral one.

I have no taste for the salacious details of EE college life/personal life being spread out on the public stage because the NFL does not realize they are a entertainment industry not a judicial arm of the country. If he is convicted or charged I understand checks/balances punishment but to be judge.jury, and executioner is only something a group of billionaires could see as justified for the good of the populist. You are seeing a real life version of Game of Billionaires.

The Patriots were complicit in Brady's crimes which made their support for him more complex.

I thought as much...

As an attorney, I can't wait to see this stuff. The petition made for some dramatic reading!

You need to know what you're talking about. You have to show irreparable harm to seek an emergency injunction. He put that in there because he had to. This filing is not about the case in chief (whether the NFL acted improperly or whether Zeke did or did not commit the act). It's purely about staying the suspension via an emergency injunction. Showing that allowing the suspension to be enforced while the case awaits being taken up by the court will cause irreparable harm to Zeke AND his employer (Cowboys) is required to obtain the injunction. Again, this HAD to be there.

This, to me, just smacks of let's submit as much as possible from the 'Zeke' side of this, so the NFL won't be able to sideswipe their way through all of them prior to 4p EST tuesday (and I agree with that way of doing things)..Mara just elbowed goodell in the rib-cage, feety pajamas on both, grabbed his favorite pillow and grumbled before rolling over (sleep-over officially over now, knowing Zeke is gonna play week 1)
