Isn't that how many of them simply occur?

Yes, but not always the case. I did not make the comment as some type of excuse there is no excuse for dropping well thrown passes. I can understand not coming up with some tough catches where the ball is a bit too far behind or too high or low but no such excuse exists for dropping balls that are put dead on the money.

I agree. Garrett and Romo lose confidence in him and call/throw plays in another direction, that essentially cuts the passing field down by 1/3. That's partly why the Cowboys could only hang 17 points against the Skins, who had a much smaller filed to defend. If Roy improves then the field widens, opening it up for Austin and Witten. It's time Roy steps up.

Hey Roy, Dorothy is not in OZ and you are not a longhorn anymore. She's in Kansas, so you need to come to Dallas and be a #1-WR for once.
They only scored 17 because they couldn't convert on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1.

Short yardage plays like that become a necessity when you have to chip away in the passing game. When Austin has to catch 8-9 passes at ten yards a reception, that basically means the rest of the field is not getting loosened up. It is a vicious circle.

Good on him. Accountability, nice to see that in a player again.

If "another" WR would of done some of this. He wouldn't be sittin at home in the snow during the playoffs.

Course, still glad he is. :laugh1:

So glad to see this attitude change in Roy. It's a step. If he is truly believing what he said then I think good things can come from this and there is hope that he can work out for us.

The one drop he had was nothing more than looking up field to run before he secured the ball.

No doubt, what do you think about the other drops? I'm just speculating, but could it be fear of being hit, possibly as a result of the rib injury?

I recall him making a really nice leaping grab along the sidelines, he caught a ball in the corner of the endzone last week and he caught a nice pass in the back of the endzone on the great play fake Garret called. Are there other plays like this I am forgetting or am I over emphasizing these few plays?

I'm just trying to find some place where maybe the team can use him that has a higher chance of success in the hope he can build his confidence from and then hopefully expand into other areas of the field.

I like what Jimmy said, see if you can find a few plays he runs really well and then expand his play book as he executes the few plays structured for him.

And all I'm saying is he needs to catch the ball, that route he ran is a route he can run and has ran before he needs to make that catch plain and simple. Yes he caught a nice one in the corner of the endzone, it was a good pass and a good catch.

I also agree with Jimmy to have RW run routes he is comfortable with but again that is a route I have seen RW run before and do well with but he needs to catch the ball.

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Hello. My name is Roy. And I am a dropaholic.

I for the life of me can't understand why he hasn't hit the Juggs machine earlier...I myself can't stand to get embarassed by not being prepared for my job and try to do everything I can to make sure I am never in that position...I would have been on that juggs machine after the 3rd drop for sure just to make sure it wasn't me...not after the ##th drop when everybody knows for sure its me...

Can the juggs machine teach him how to run routes?

i think we'd all settle for a catch rate north of 50%...his only worth right now is in the redzone...otherwise, as i opined before, you could maybe insert Crayton and not see an appreciable drop-off, given the number of times he's been targeted lately...frankly, i'd say catch 200 balls, in the rain and with someone yelling at him with a bullhorn...as many as it takes...

"You know I have to get the confidence of my quarterback, because I didn't get a look after the first half," Williams said. "I didn't get a look in the second half. That's telling me that my quarterback has lost confidence in me, and so has the coordinator as far as calling plays for me.

Yet another example of how Romo has matured. I am glad to see it happening. He is doing something about the problem. The coaches are still coddling him by keeping him on the field and starting him. He's forcing the hand. If anyone deserves bravos, kudos and atta boys, it is Romo. Williams is just seeing the writing on the wall from a QB who is holding his feet to the fire.

I couldn't agree more, in no way did I mean to imply it was OK for him not to catch the ball, especially balls like the slant he dropped against NO and the one right in his chest last week against Washington and the one that he said got lost in the lights against Green Bay, etc, etc, etc....puke!

I still can't help but wonder if the sideline and end zone catches might be more suited for his current mindset because in all cases, he doesn't have to worry about get hit or running after the catch. Could this be a reason he didn't drop these passes like he did when they were in the middle of the field?

I don't think you can limit him to just those 2 routes. He has done great in his career on the skinny post, if you recall after the TB game it was Kitna saying that RW runs that route better than anyone. What ever the issue with RW is right now he needs to work through this and get it going.

I say we come out Sunday and first play is a play fake with protection to allow a deep slant across the numbers to Roy and see if he's ready to play
