We're going down the same path we went with Romo.

Trying to paper over our defensive inadequacies, for years Romo had to be perfect or almost perfect to get us wins, and now we are starting to expect the same of Dak, and he's in his second year. I can't believe there are serious fans, who know football and have the opinion that this is Dak's fault.

many people don't want to understand. just blame something/someone in the easiest possible terms to deal with something they hate.

then the senseless arguing begins.

They've been waiting a year to pounce on Prescott. 2016 was a miserable season for them.

Great kid but never going to be a great QB.

Based on what? Because he's not accurately throwing passes to our supposed superstar WR? When he's 40% to Dez and 71% to EVERYONE ELSE, the problem might not be on him. Also, if Dak completed 75% of his passes yesterday, what did the D show you that said they would stop the Rams when need be? the Rams missed many opportunities as well in that game on offense.

I'm so glad we have REAL NFL PEOPLE to listen to in regards to the players and their respective abilities.

I could not agree more. This is just like with Romo. Dak has to be near perfect or we're likely going to lose. And like with Tony, Dak will take the brunt of the blame.

And the Cowboys circle of life continues.

Well that possible best he can be currently has him ranked 3rd in QBR and TD's (as mentioned in @rocyaice's thread).

He certainly has things he needs to improve on, but he's a 2nd year QB, on a team that's a total mess currently.

And you can tell all of that based on what?

Last year the majority of people here were ready to crown him as the next Joe Montana (not myself) and now he has two not so great games behind a leaky offensive line and receivers who drop critical passes so you can tell "he's never going to be a great qb"?

I bet after their first season you already knew Brady and Peyton would be great qb's

Right. And while he has his share of blame in that...he's far down the list IMO.

6 points in the second half......not all on Dak. Can't throw it to a back on 4th and 10 though....Gotta hit Witten on more than 1 completion and Beasley too.

it's sickening man. starting all over again with Dak. i hate this organization for how they've neglected defense forever.

Terrible example. Most of his passes not to Dez are within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage, so of course that % is higher. He throws a mean 4 yard out on 3rd and out, I will give you that.

Dak was not perfect in that game - some erratic throws, & accuracy at times was suspect.
But, on the money downs in the red zone the team scored touchdowns.

I am waiting for Marinelli, and defensive team leaders to announce that they 'failed'.

People kept relying on potential on qbs like Wentz, even after a very poor second 2 thirds to the season, yet Prescott is maxed out on his potential at age 24 coming off Rookie of the year honors.

STOP COMPARING A SECOND YEAR PLAYER TO 10 YEAR VET ROMO YOU MORONS. Luck, Mariota, Goff and other high picks all had or are having growing pains

Is he throwing 50/50 balls to Beasley or Witten?
