IRVING, Texas -- Bill Parcells was watching the Dallas Cowboys last week. He will be watching the Dallas Cowboys this week too. “You can’t see me rooting for the Packers, do you?” Parcells said the other day. Well, he is great friends with former Packers general manager Ron Wolf, but his ties to the Cowboys are strong. He has a good friendship with owner and general manager Jerry Jones. Three players remain from his tenure as coach with the team: Tony Romo, Jason Witten and L.

Thank you for posting.I really miss Parcells. He turned things around and i just wished he stayed. His press conferences were the most enjoyable.

You are so right about his press conferences! I watched or listened to everyone he had. I learned more about football listening to those than from any other means.

After reading that I want to say something like...That Bill is soooo Dreamy...but he is not, he is ugly old man, looks wise.

But I do love listening to him talk or reading about him talking football.

And as others have said, I miss his PCs because they were always entertaining. Not boring coach cliches, run arounds and mumbling like many other coaches (the mumbling is bilicheat).

This is not almost it .... this is IT:
"I would say when he is gone from Dallas they’ll probably be saying, 'Well, this quarterback is pretty good but he’s not Tony Romo,'" Parcells said. "It's just like he's had to fight that battle that he's not Troy Aikman or Roger Staubach. It's a natural thing but he's done a good job. People should know by now all the things that he can do."

when did tony say that? source please.

You can't be serious.
This is common knowledge...kind of like "Roger Staubach was once player for the Dallas Cowboys" or "water is wet" type stuff.
Look it up yourself...or maybe just ask anyone that was around back then.

Parcells is the one who stuck with Romo and eventually gave him his chance to start though.

great stuff.

Romo came to Dallas because of Sean Payton though.

He did. But Parcells pulled the trigger. I wish Parcells stayed another year or two. I think we would have been significant much quicker than it took.

I am serious. Its "common knowledge" because people like to use it to discredit Parcells contributions to this franchise (which I believe were revolutionary).

Romo chose Dallas over Denver because of the QB situation in those two places. Romo was not a secret. Most teams scouted him. That Payton Eastern Illinois angle has been overplayed. Perhaps it played a role, but it is overplayed.

He has no source. That's just what they came up with when trying to discredit the great Bill Parcells when he left.

I don't see them doing that with Tom Landry. Let's review all those players and see if Landry was in fact the initiator to getting the player.

Well, I wasn't discrediting Parcels in any way.
He knew little to nothing about Romo if not for Payton. They pushed for Romo after the draft because of Payton.

Parcel gets the credit he deserves because he stuck with Romo and eventually gave him his shot. He saw something after he got here that others didn't.

You guys get way too sensitive about Big Bill. I'm a fan.

Jason Garrett raving about Marc Columbo's assistance with prep last week for the Lions. Another find by the great Parcells!

I shudder to think what '03-'14 would have looked like had he decided not to coach here.
