"Dak fell because [while] he was a leader who loved the game, he had the DUI, and when he got beat up during spring break in Panama City, his teammates did not help him in the fight," a personnel director said. "Some wondered, 'Hey, if he is such a leader, why did they not help him?'"

You always wonder how guys go undrafted or get passed over in the draft. Stupid stuff like this is why. What on earth does this have to do with whether or not the guy can play?

It's going to be an incredible rivalry with those two for many years to come. I wish I hated Wentz. I'm sure someday I will.

I think overall it's a fair assessment at this point even if a lot of it is based on assumptions. I do believe by the end of the season though, there will be more clarity of which quarterback was better.

Right now, it's easy to assume Dak benefits from having Elliot and the offensive line with him, but they forget how bad this team was last year with a solid running game, the same offensive line basically (Collins/Leary) and how the team could not win without Romo. Just like I think it is also easy to overlook the fact that Wentz has benefited from his team's special teams and defensive play.

Once the season has played out, it will be easier to gauge where both quarterbacks are.

True, but some things are telling.

For instance, the fact that Connor Cook was not voted to be a team captain at Michigan State tells me something. I'm so glad Dallas wasn't successful at trading up for him.

I never heard the story of his teammates not helping him in a fight. Did he start it? I wonder what that story was.

The one argument I would say in Dak's defense is that he might have all these weapons (RB, OL, TE, etc.) that Wentz does not have but he still has to execute the plays. That he does very well, so far.

I don't even know if "all these weapons" is a real argument honestly. Its zeke and the other guys. Everyone's playing extremely well but no one (outside of Dallas) was singing the praises of butler, Beasley, t will etc.

Philly has a dangerous player in sproles, Mathews, a first round wr , 2 2nd rounders, ertz. There's talent there. Could definitely be considered "weapons" in the right situation

I saw the video online last year. Some guys may not want to risk their future for someone else. I don't see how that indicates he's not a leader as he's proven to be just that. A leader.

I think with most "experts", they are infactuated with Wentz's physical attributes and not fully considering who has really outperformed who at this level. I think the same is true for the Wentz cheerleaders in CZ, and the fact that they want to say they were right..

Or you just don't like their evaluation and want to rationalize it in your head to make you feel better.

No of course not. But because Prescott has better numbers the excuses start flying out

Nothing wrong with both of them becoming Franchise QBs for both teams.
If that happens both teams should be happy.

We just got lucky and got ours, again if it turns out, in the 4th round without trading other picks to get him. Which also means we got him and Zeke vs just Wentz.

There is absolutely something wrong with Philly having a franchise QB

Lane Johnson gets suspended, and then you see [Commanders outside linebacker] Ryan Kerriganget three sacks in the first half," one evaluator said. "Wentz never bats an eye. He stays back there, and he is going to throw it. He is not scared, he is not nervous, he does not have happy feet. He just stood back there and took it like he was a five-year vet. His technique didn't change."
This part is hyperbole. LJ went out and Wentz went on without a beat? He's thrown for 317 yards 1 TD two INT with a completion percentage hovering around 50%.
Dak lost Dez and Tyron and his numbers didn't dip.

I appreciate the post but they could have posted the same thing in the offseason.

Wentz stood back there like a vet alright. Throwing for under 150 yards on 28 attempts, under 5 YPA with 2 picks because he was scurred.

Dak will have a better career. Justify it however you like. Not many QBs have outperformed him, and he's done it all without his #1 receiver.

Haters gonna hate.

Or you dont like my response because it's calling you out.

Oh heavens no. Anything but that.

I was just pointing out a Cowboys fan was pretending that every league exec quoted in the piece is just not thinking clearly. That you know better. About their own thought process.

L O and L.

Here, it's a debate. In the NFL world its a no brainer. Wentz is the superior player. By a lot too. i just have to be honest about it.
