I still think wentz is the better QB overall, but I would rather have Dak on this team, and wouldn't trade him for Wentz period.

We are biased because Dak is here.

What if you can have either Wentz or Dak with your 4th round pick? or even 2nd round pick without giving up additional picks. Who would you take heads up?

Like most GMs.....Just fricking happy to have either of these guys for next 10 years.

Honestly and it's definitely biased, but I take Dak. I love the kid and he fits our team to a T. I'd be ecstatic to have Wentz on the cowboys as well, but he's not so **** him. Now, in the future, in hindsight and hypothetically

"Dak fell because [while] he was a leader who loved the game, he had the DUI, and when he got beat up during spring break in Panama City, his teammates did not help him in the fight," a personnel director said. "Some wondered, 'Hey, if he is such a leader, why did they not help him?'"

This is why I always LOL when people think NFL teams and talent evaluators are so all knowing and the fans don't know anything.

Supposedly he is really smart, but according to reports he struggled with the mental part of the game the most in camp and preseason. But it probably should also be remembered that he was 21 years old when the season started.

Well he didn't know where the sun rose and fell, so there's that.

Wentz has struggled after his bye week. It'll be interesting to see if the extra week affects Daks momentum. I sure hope not, could open up a can of worms, with Tony getting healthy.

Wentz is starting to play like a rookie but he doesn't have the guys around him that Dak does...

Which is why you can't help but wonder how a QB like Tony Romo would do if a 4th round Rookie is playing like this.

Oh heavens no. Anything but that.

I was just pointing out a Cowboys fan was pretending that every league exec quoted in the piece is just not thinking clearly. That you know better. About their own thought process.

L O and L.

Here, it's a debate. In the NFL world its a no brainer. Wentz is the superior player. By a lot too. i just have to be honest about it.

So far this season, that has not been proven on the field. Your golden boy has been outperformed by a mere 4th rounder. I know it hurts. Hey, it's ok. It's human nature to want to be proven right and jump at every oportunity in the interest of self vindication and validation.

I still think the jury is out for both QBs
We wont really know until the end of the 2017 season
There have been plenty of QBs who have done well for a stretch when they initially start only to fall badly in year 2 (to be fair they haven't usually been rookies)

I don't buy the justifications for why Dak fell in the draft (just silly), and I definitely don't buy the Wentz sees the field any better. Dak reads the field incredibly quickly, and it shows in his record of taking care of the ball and converting on third downs in the passing game.

That said, in an informal poll of anonymous former execs, you never really know who's getting poked here, anyway. Are these Brian Broaddusses? Or are they former GMs? Probably the former, right?

I agree, that's why I said "so far". We will see how this plays out. One thing for sure, we are fortunate to even be having this conversation, considering how we have been dreading life without Romo. :)

See, while Dak's OL and RB are far superior, Dak has played without Dez most of the year. Butler, Williams, and Beasley have been his WRs. Wentz is playing with a 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, and 3rd rounder. Now, none of them are any good outside of Matthews (who stone-hands a lot of passes), but it's not like Dak is throwing to studs. Wentz also has a high pick TE who's played in 4 of 6 games. Wentz has also had his defense and ST scoring for him, which Dak hasn't. Living in Philly, I watch every single Eagles game, start to finish. Wentz may have more talent, but he definitely hasn't been any more impressive than Dak has been so far.

If I am a GM and I am asked this question, I am going with the safe answer. The safe answer with only a mere 6 games into these young QB careers is to go with the 2nd pick in the draft.

Of course I'm biased. It's only natural but I love Dak's swag and confidence. I love his preparation, backround and leadership. Right now in Philly they're harping on Went'z "gunslinger" mentality of late not protecting the ball. It's far too early to make any definitive declarations but I love what we have right now.

I said this in another thread, but if you believed in the arm talent of Goff and Wentz before the draft, I still think you would play that card out because special arm talent is hard to find. But Dak would have to be no worse than the 3rd QB taken now, and likely a first rounder. Great value from the 4th, obviously.
Goff's arm talent is solid, Wentz's is excellent. Goff like Prescott your looking at a Romo level arm. Wentz's arm is more in like with a Stafford. Lynch had the best arm talent in draft
