I think a lot of it is lip service and hedging his bets in making Dak feel wanted if they planned to re-sign him. I believe the Cowboys do want Dak, but only to a certain price point unless he delivers in a big way this year.

At this point, they're much better off letting the season play out and make a decision after the year. Most of the major names have already gotten their deals recently and don't know there's anyone else that would significantly drive up the market between now and next offseason.
I believe Dak wants to remain on the Dallas Cowboys, “but only to a certain price point”. By now he and his agent know what the Cowboys feel is appropriate compensation. If they’re not comfortable with it Dak should do the only thing he can do. Finish his current deal and become a free agent. At that point Dak and his agent will find out what the league thinks he’s worth. Isn’t this the way every player should handle his business?

Jerry has not, and will not, violate the terms of his agreement with Dak. Dak owes him the same. I don’t hear either one complaining. There are other teams for Dak to consider. There are other quarterbacks for Jerry to consider. If they’re stuck with each other for the 2024 season, well, they both signed the current deal. In 27 weeks they’re free of one another.

Jerry needs to step up...Haven't had a step in 30 years...When will you be held accountable??? Oh yes....you always have the out of jail card.... Worthless guy in the world. He's the problem for 30nyears yet holding everybody else up on far higher expectations.

"At some point, you can't make all the money and do less work. He's got to do more work."

I need to listen to Jerry’s actual comment to see if that’s exactly what he said. I want to see if that was taken out of context.
