ESPN: John Clayton reports Wade is after Pendergast as the new DC

Cowboys target Pendergast: Although no interview is scheduled yet, there remains a good chance former Cardinals defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast will end up with the Dallas Cowboys. Wade Phillips is interested in adding Pendergast to the staff. First, Phillips has to see if the money is there to add Pendergast. The plan next season is for Phillips to call Dallas' defensive plays, but the team hasn't replaced departed defensive coordinator Brian Stewart.

If we are switching back to the 4-3, then we dont need Coach StayPuff anymore. The only reason his arse is still employed is because he is the defacto DC. Now considering that StayPuff has run the "Phillups 34" everywhere he has been, then if we go back to the 4-3 we dont really need him anymore.


As far as TO and his roster bonus, I think that is happening sometime in June I believe. So the decision will be made long before his roster bonus is due.

I guess at the end of the day it doesn't matter who the DC as we all know that Wade is going to be calling plays and controlling what happens over there. That IS the only reason that Wade is around at this time. If his D would have had a average year, he wouldn't be around.

OLB isn't really a position that the team needs to address. ILB is needed much more.

Pretty sure Dansby play MLB with Okeafor and Berry playing OLB..They play an odd defense. It's like a mix of a 3-4 and a 4-3. Dansby would be a beast playing with James and having Spencer and Ware come off the edge. Dansby's one of the best cover LB's in the NFL(after watching every Cardinal play in the playoffs)
