ESPN MacMahon: Romo: Crayton has 'that feel'/Newman won't discuss confrontation

Have y'all forgotten when bill Parcells punched Todd Haley on the sidelines? This kind of thing happens. Though I agree something should be done as far as a fine goes with T-New. You simply cannot touch a coach like that.

Now that one is more germane than Hall v. Smith since they were actually on the same team. But it's totally okay to punch your inferior in the NFL. ;)

Didn't Deangelo Hall and Mike Smith get into a shoving match two weeks ago?
Deangelo Hall didn't shove, but Mike Smith did.

Mike Smith was fined by the league $15k. Hall was not fined.

Great. Good to know. Please post videos of other players shoving their coaches. Preferably -- for your argument -- ones that were not later punished.

Good lord...are you kidding me? Maybe this is your first year watching football but I've seen it happen often.

I still keep waiting for one of you to put up proof that this happens every week. I've been watching football for 30 years, and I have never seen a player shove a coach before today.

LOL...really? In 30 yrs, you've never seen that before? :lmao2:

Newman needs to learn how to openfield tackle!!!

newman needs to play up to his potential and shut the blank up.

Then it won't be hard to post a video of it happening, and not just one video but several.

If it really does happen "every week" as you claimed then you should be able to find some footage somewhere. Otherwise it's nothing but assumption on your part.

I'm sure that sometime, somewhere a player has shoved a coach. But I think it is rare and, relatedly, I expect it is punished pretty severely if/when it does.

So, yes, I'd like some proof.

I don't know if you watch any other games but this can apply to the WHOLE NFL lol. Did you see those games Miles Austin had where guys wouldn't wrap him up?

Look I am not going surfing for some video to satisfy you or anybody else. I've seen it happen plenty of times. It wasn't like Newman took a swing at Campo...he just pushed him out of his face. No big deal.

Newman should get a massive fine. Players have to be shown that sort of thing can't be tolerated.

Nor can Newman's pathetic play this year be tolerated. You could make a highlight reel of his miscues this year.

No it does happen every week. You have to be at the games to see it. Its rarely captured on the field. Last time I saw it on TV was when Boldin and Todd Haley went at it. What Newman did is what you want. Someone to show they care. Most guys will sit in the corner and just take the beating and their play on the field will reflect that. Newman came back and played even better than he did before. That's what you want IMO.

you're going to upset the newman excuse makers here!

I've seen it happen plenty of times.

Translation: I just finished waking up from a dream.

Translation: It's okay for a subordinate to get physical with a boss. It's not like he kills him so what's the big deal?

Thank you for your honesty. ;)

What You Said = Unfounded Assertions

I think I'll hold out for the video proof.

Not going to go look for the video, huh. No surprise here.

I just did your work for you. Or tried to, at least. I assumed I'd fine something, somewhere and have to spend some time sorting through them all.

Nope. Nothing. I tried several different Google searches and a Youtube search and couldn't find any stories about players fighting or shoving coaches on the sidelines.

Again, I'm sure it's out there somewhere. But it certainly seems to be very, very rare.

Do you people not remember Kevin Greene when he was with the Panthers where he looked like he was about to kill his coach and it took about 10 guys to hold him back? If you guys have never seen this stuff before, stuff FAR FAR FAR FAR (x100) worse than this lame crap you're moaning about, then I'm calling you liars when you say you've watched football a lot. That was shown on Sportscenter, etc. a ton when it happened, but I couldn't even find that doing a basic search.

There's not going to be a lot of videos to find because there's no reason to take the time to upload a video of something that's very common and insignificant. If you expect people to just start going through game tapes one by one to find examples, you're delusional.
