ESPN MacMahon: Wade Phillips shows weakness in brushing off Newman-Campo incident

I think DanteEXT is right on.

The media were determined to make this a story today. Wade said the media didn't know the story and he wasn't telling them because it was an in-house matter. He then said it wasn't a big deal, that this happens more often than people realize, and that the sidelines belong to the team and what happens there is their business (paraphrasing).

Why is that not a satisfactory answer, especially after both parties -- Campo and Newman -- have said it's nothing?

So Wade didn't defuse the media to some people's satisfaction... So what. It doesn't give MacMahon the right to make completely bogus claims like "Newman has no respect for this coaching staff." That's exactly the kind of thing that wouldn't have been allowed in the print media days, but now bloggers can basically say anything they like with zero repercussions.

So Newman, Campo and Fox didn't make this a story yesterday?

It's obvious some people can comprehend this, while some others (I won't name any names DCF) can't.

Wade shows weakness? ummm This D is playing great right now so ill wont be quick to judge Wade. We're 7-3 and Wade's D is probably the reason we're at that mark...

Ah, a voice of common sense and reason on the Cowboys Zone.

Great comments.

This non-story is a joke.

We beat the bloody Commanders at home after they beat us at home last year.

7-6, baby!!!!

This aint the Big 12 South......

You know, this is a bloody joke.

Newman gave up a play to DeSean Jackson last year on a bloody perfect throw and the guy stiff-armed Newman while he was closing in.

This year, Newman shuts that little green, troll down. 20-16

Who reports it?

Matt Mosley

Does the Cowboys Zone care?

Never heard a peep, but I heard about last year when Jackson made one play.

What is there to clarify? I thought Newman blew coverage and Campo got in his *** for it? What's the big deal?

Exactly. Nothing to see here, move on. Sorry lame reporters have no idea what football is about. It is kind of an intense sport.:)

It's so predictable that this is a non-story to a) the Newman apologists, still holding fast to the fantasy that he's an elite player and b) the sunshine crew, who would pretty much excuse anything and everything anyone in the organization does.

Pathetic.

This is the sort of things that get tolerated when the owner is one players are answering to instead of the coach.

All Staypuff needed to say was that the problem was worked out between Campo and Newman, end of story.

What good would it have done for him to clarify anything? All it would have done is stir up more BS that there's all sorts of controversy in Dallas. The mediots are doing what they do best, sucking at life.

Because Newman put his hand on Campos Bosom.

It was the double nipple twist by Newman that got Campo over the edge.

I would rather those two have a spat on the sidelines then to see the normal campo just throwing his arms up or rolling his eyes like he normally does or has done in the past.

Thank you. Who hasn't yelled at his kids? Or wife? Sometimes the press is so full of it.
