Like I said, Mosley obviously didn't consult with Gosselin (the end-all-be-all draft guru). I really hope Gosselin and Brandt are right and the dozens of other experts are wrong on this.

Too many big-time personnel guys have told me off-the-record that Jason Williams was a curious pick at No. 69. I can't find anyone who's in love with the kid

Listening to draft coverage, I think it was Norm Hitzges who said he talked to a NFL personnel man who said Jason Williams was the hardest player to slot out of all the prospects.

Williams was hard to grade because he played such a unique position as a stand up inside linebacker on the line of scrimmage at a small school.

The source also loved Williams as a player, but he just didn't know where to draft him at.

We considered trading up for Williams, so we obviously liked him in the third round. He has all the measurables, good character and seemingly loves the game.

I have no idea how Williams will adapt to playing inside linebacker in our 3-4 in the NFL or when he might help us on the field besides special teams. But he seems like a good player with a lot of upside and I have no problem having used a third round selection to obtain him.
