Last I saw they weren't going too. I don't see how they can't.

Barber/Choice/Coleman whoever is back there has to pick up the blitz. Also, if we don't attempt 25-30 running plays this game we won't have a chance. The Steelers line 8-9 guys in the box every play for confusion so Romo just can't audible out of them to a pass like the 1st skins game. They have to run the play thats called or switch to another run like the 2nd skins game.

Choice can put up 100+ yards
I dont see where you can gather that an unproven rookie is just going to run wild for over a 100 yards against the best Run D in football based on 30 carries all season. Be optimistic, but realistic. He's had one run of over 20 yards and hasnt seen the endzone. Chill.

The following lists sorts how backs (and receivers on rushing attempts) have fared against the Steelers this year. The last column indicates whether Pittsburgh won or loss:

Mosely knows his audience, and he knows who writes his checks.

Look, Barber will play. I don't even think there is a question about that. You can wonder about how effective he'll be, but he will gut it out.

Matt knows that too. He's just saying this to get fans riled up about Choice going against the Steelers instead of Barber, and it keeps the Cowboys a story.

Hey, at least it isn't a TO or Pacman story though.

That is because you don't have your blue and silver glasses on.

How many times has he gotten the ball in the red zone? What does having a run over 20 yards have to do with going over 100?

It has to do with the fact that if he's going to have over a 100 yards, he's going to have to have some big runs cause there's no way he's going to consistently get big chunks every time he touches the ball against that defense.

I hope they feel that way. **** seems to pop up when you least expect it. Choice like Barber is a pounding back and not a finesse back. The weather favors both Barber and Choice.

It also favors elusive pocket passers (QB that know how to slide in the pocket) over pass rushers as kinetic energy becomes more pronounced on slick surfaces.

It also increases the favor for recievers because defensive backs have less ability to plant their feed when a reciever makes a break / double cut / stop and go.

What doesn't favor the offense is high wind, slick footballs, timing routes, and plays that go east west rather than north and south. The last one is a major reason why powerful back that pound the ball are so much better in bad weather. Our offensive line averaging 325lbs won't hurt either!

Good post. I'd love to see MB on that delayed draw. I think that would be a good play for them. But I am worried about MB. I know he will try and play but he needs to be able to play. TC seems a good 'choice' to run the ball but he needs to be able to pick up the blitz. That not only means blocking and not cutting pass rushers but also knowing who and when to block, when to leave the backfield or stay in, and where to go on a hot read for him.

We may get by on a few less but if your point is we have to pass too much because we're behind then yeah. We need to play from ahead as much as possible. If they can just turn the dogs lose them Romo may get overwhelmed. We need to make them pay for recklessness and play us more honestly.

That defense is overrated. If Choice gets the start he can go over 100 yards.

Kinda hard for them to be overrated since they're the number one in pass, number one in run, and number one overall. Who's over them or who should be rated over them. Dick LeBeau is a legend. He's a pros pro. And they have got some football players on that team. The only reason I'm confident is that we probably can outscore them.

how do you figure?

Because if he is wrong, who cares. If he is right, then he gets to serve crow for years. It doesn't take a brave person to predict the highly unlikely.

You're buggin. He's not going over a 100. He'll be fortunate to get half. End of discussion.

Choice will be fine if MB3 can't go and if the Steelers think for a second that he won't put up huge numbers on them they're mistaken.

Dude I like Choice as much as the next guy but there are two faults with this logic.

#1 - We've seen nothing, as of yet, to say that he can put up huge numbers on the best run defense in football.

#2 - And this is really the more important. It's not so much his running ability that worries people, it's his lack of knowledge on picking up the blitz. Going against Pittsburgh is hard for even the most seasoned back, cause of all their stuff they throw at you, now you factor in a rookie trying to do it? This is where his inexperience will factor in, far more so than his ability to run the ball or not.
