Then can you explain why Jason Peters gets a pass for a horrible year where he wasn't injured and Flozell doesn't when he couldn't lift one arm over his head and the other hand was blown up with an infection?

because he plays for the cowboys?

Peters SHOULD be the best in the division, but he was terrible last season, when he allowed more sacks (11.5, despite missing three games) than Adams has allowed in the past two seasons combined. Peters hasn't been great since 2006.

And Diehl is the worst left tackle in the division. Two years ago, he allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL (13.5, also more than Adams has allowed in the past two seasons combined).

If Adams ever allowed 11.5 or 13.5 sacks in a season, his reputation would be obliterated. But he's never even come close to being that bad in pass protection. And he's easily one of the top run-blockers at left tackle.

Flo is about as good as you're gonna get from a LT. Sure there are guys like Clady and Thomas that are light years ahead of him but Flo does well enough to make up for his penalties.

Not to mention last year he was playing with one arm.

Yeah, as much as he frustates us, he displayed a 'warrior mentality' playing with a shoulder stinger and a very bad infected finger (Mickey Spagnola constantly mentioned this on 'Talking Cowboys') that really kept him from using his hands when blocking. Mickey said the finger was puffed up so bad, that stuff was oozing out of it , imagine how hard blocking was? And by the way, he is still one of the top 10 tackles in the NFL, IMO!! I can't wait until training camp begins!!

Jason Peters got a little bit of hype this offseason and Mosley puts him @ 1.

Samuels was really awesome in his day.

But on their best day none of them are better than Flo. We just can't get him to bring it all the time.

I know you know thew answer to this question but I'll answer it anyway.

Because he was not signed by the Cowboys.

You are da man Adam.

Forget the talking heads and their anti-Cowboys agenda, that's clear.

What I can't understand is the majority of the fans on this site's failure to properly judge/value Flozell Adams.

This has been going on forever. He's been one of our best lineman since 1998.

He missed 10 games in 2005 with the knee and was very ineffective for the majority of 2008 with the arm injury.

Outside of that the guy has played very well. His talent is immense and has shut down plenty of top rushers.

Inflammatory Mosely article at it's finest. I'm scared to death of Flozell this coming season, but he's not worse than Diehl, who's far and away the worst left tackle in the division. Chris Samuels is better than Peters as well.

maybe because he's not that good anymore. it's funny everytime somebody posts some rankings and if our guys aren't ranked #1 you guys act like the media is driven to bash the Cowboys. HELLO???????? maybe some of our players aren't as good as you think they are. I mean after all we haven't even won a playoff game since 96!

What in the world did Flozell do to his finger?

Usually one trip to the doctor, he cuts it open and drains it, then it heals.

Flozell doesn't need to be ranked as #1 at his position, but Adam's numbers clearly showed he has performed better than those that idiot Mosely is judging as far better.

Two things frustrate me about Flozell:

1) That he could be so much better if he worked harder at his craft. He strikes me as a guy who doesn't love the game and does just enough.

2) This team has to take whatever effort he gives them for the foreseeable future because they've got no alternative.

Odd that you're terrified of what Adams will do at LT this season and yet somehow rate him higher than Diehl? Especially when you consider the fact that most Giants fans are in fact very pleased with Diehl's performance.

Personally I have Diehl rated as the third best tackle in the division, with Samuels at one, and Peters at two. Adams is broken down and over the hill, he's coming off of a terrible year in which his body gave out on him, while Diehl coming off his second full year of starting at LT has improved dramitcally over his performance in 2007.

Diehl may have problems against speed rushers such as Ware, but he's dependable and consistent, and a beast against the run. I'd take him over Adams any day of the week.

Romo made Flozell look a lot better than he really is at this point in his career.

Being that we can't draft at that position we screwed, and I'm sure he knows that.

Although I haven't seen a whole lot of Jason Peters, I bet being on quick timing offense like the Eagles will make his job alot easier than in Buffalo. Thus the number one grade.

As for Flozell, you can COUNT on at least one false start per game. Maybe when you take a complete game that isn't a big deal, but it is frustrating...
This lack of commitment to address this, leads commentators and fans to perceive he is not commitment in other areas of his play.

Over time this perception stays.....

If Peters is still getting graded well because of 2007 season, so should Flo!

Maybe you should try to answer sober because Peters gave up 11.5 sacks in 13 games last season. Trying to claim the offense will turn crap into gold is ridiculous.

Luckily for Flo, he doesn't have to defend Demarcus Ware twice a year.

I hope you are right about this topic and I am wrong...

Time will tell.

There's no doubt about that. I don't care about his talent, if he can't get motivated to do his job that he gets paid very well at doing, he has no place on my team if I run things.
