I hope you are right about this topic and I am wrong...

Time will tell.
That doesn't even matter, nobody knows if he can turn his career around or not. But for anyone to claim that he is the best LT in the east right now is just ridiculous because he has been awful lately.

Romo made Flozell look a lot better than he really is at this point in his career.
And TO made Romo look better than he really is, and Jason Witten made TO look better than he really is, and having a strong running game and good pass catching backs made Jason Witten look better than he really is, and ultimately none of our players are all that good, they're just propping each other up with their own suckiness.

Luckily for Flo, he doesn't have to defend Demarcus Ware twice a year.

Lucky for Flo, Romo has some mobility and can make pass rushers miss.

Diehl is not better than Flo or Samuels. Peters has potential, but at best he's been a good pass protector and a mediocre run blocker and has been awful the past TWO seasons. Of course, Mosely would never look into that. Or how Diehl led the league in sacks allowed in 2007 according to STATS, Inc.

I say:

1. Samuels
2. Flo
3. Peters
4. Diehl

This will be Adams' last year as a starter in Dallas, too expensive and at 34 with 12 seasons under his belt and two knee injuries and a deaf ear he's about at the end of the line.

He'll be the last Cowboy drafted in the 1990s and the last to protect Troy Aikman.

Guesstimated "stats" don't tell the story of Flozell Adams any more than they did Roy WilliamsOU.

Flozell may give up less sacks than others, but a big reason is because, whatever you may think of Romo, he has been one of the great escape artists at QB the last few years. That's a luxury the guy in NY didn't have.

The "one-armed" excuse for Flozell doesn't cut it. He's underachieved throughout his career, and last year wasn't a whole lot different than many before it. The author was right about one thing, that Flo was fantastic in 2003. If memory serves, that wasn't a contract year, that was the first year of a new contract. Since then, he's been inconsistent and injured. Sometimes he's been brilliant, yet sometimes sluggish and overmatched against average DEs.

I'd look forward to the day he's replaced, except the organization has shown no ability to draft OL the last several years, especially at tackle.

I'm not sure who would've allowed more.

I found him -- STATS says Jeff Backus allowed 15.5 sacks in 2007.

Odd that you're terrified of what Adams will do at LT this season and yet somehow rate him higher than Diehl? Especially when you consider the fact that most Giants fans are in fact very pleased with Diehl's performance.

Personally I have Diehl rated as the third best tackle in the division, with Samuels at one, and Peters at two. Adams is broken down and over the hill, he's coming off of a terrible year in which his body gave out on him, while Diehl coming off his second full year of starting at LT has improved dramitcally over his performance in 2007.

Diehl may have problems against speed rushers such as Ware, but he's dependable and consistent, and a beast against the run. I'd take him over Adams any day of the week.

You do that Mr Simpson.

You and the uninformed Mr. Mosely.

I just re-watched last season's game at Texas Stadium and saw Diehl repeatedly beaten by anyone and everyone who lined up against him. He was beaten by not only Ware, but Ellis, James, and Spencer as well.

I look forward to many more seasons of that 'dramatic improvement'.

Although I'm not sure how Eli Manning feels about that.

The Hotel has not given up double digit sacks ever as I recall. He is always in the top ten as regards to not giving up sacks. Now his false starts are indeed a problem but he does not have as many of those as some people would have you beleive.

Last year with his bad hand and not being able to raise his arm normally he was still better then average.

Hey Adam,

Would it be too much of a pain to find out how many sacks Flozell has allowed by year, for comparison's sake?

It might've been posted elsewhere, so forgive me for not looking.

This is what STATS says --

Code:
[B]Year	GP	GS	Sacks allowed[/B]
1998	16	12	1.5
1999	16	16	5
2000	16	16	5
2001	16	16	2.5
2002	16	16	7.5
2003	16	16	4.5
2004	16	16	7.5
2005	6	6	2
2006	16	16	7.5
2007	16	16	3.5
2008	16	16	7.25

He played right guard in 1998, then left tackle starting in 1999.
