Lots of fans I know no longer trust Tony Romo and I can understand why that is going by the last 2 years. Even though Emmit is not qualified to be an NFL Analyst on TV, he is right on the money with this prediction. No way am I getting my hopes up high for this team anymore until I see some consistency

Why? Because I sure don't understand why. He's only been the best QB we've had since Aikman, he's 29-12 as a starter, he's taken his team to post season 2 of his 3yrs as a starter, he's been a Pro Bowler 2 of 3yrs. So please tell me, why wouldn't a Cowboys fan who knows anything about the game NOT trust Romo?

i will never forget what romo said.

"if the worst thing the ever happens to me in life is losing a football game, then i have lived a pretty good life"

ugh

:banghead: i guess i care more about winning than our franchise quarterback.

thats pretty sad.

emmitt is right...romo needs to change his whole attitiude. but i think its too late beacause if he does everybody knows its an act.

Emmitt better be ready to eat some crow if the Cowboys stay healthy.

Felix Jones

Remember that name, remember it.

Don't you forget it.

He's the best running back in the NFC EAST!

I said it, and I will not back down.

This is gonna sound stupid but what does that mean? I heard Jim Rome say it a couple times.

Really? That's not a good sign when I'm sharing material with Jim Rome. I'm going to grind some 4th meal with my chicklets and then stop listening to sports talk radio altogether.

Emmitt's literally pimping the other white meat. He's a spokesman for the pork-producers of America and making the rounds talking awkwardly about his favorite pork products. Including, as I mentioned in another thread, to my vast amusement, 'beef ribs.'

I think, the logic behind the sub 500 prediction is tied to the 9-7 record from last season...Are we better or worse than last season?...There are arguments to be made for both cases, IMHO...So, to go from 9-7 to 7-9 isn't exactly a monumentally negative take
i agree.

we didnt do anything to get better from last season. so 7-9 is possible

I agree. He is one RB with more talent than Emmitt had going into his career.

I second that opinion and I don't need to mark it down because I really believe in it. The game has changed.

I'm talking about right now, not 13 years later.

I'm going right at Westbrook, Jacobs, Portis, ect...

Felix Jones couldn't even make it through his rookie season without getting banged up and missing most of the year.

Felix Jones may be faster than Emmitt. Felix Jones may be more agile than Emmitt. Felix Jones may have better hands than Emmitt. But Felix Jones will never in a million years be able to take the pounding that is required from an NFL starting RB. Felix is a weapon, but not a workhorse.

I'd rather have Jacobs, Portis, Westbrook, or Barber as my starting back over Felix Jones.

You don't think Felix Jones can carry the load.

I'll take that bet.

C.O. Brocatto stated that he thought he could carry the load.

If Chris Johnson can be the feature back, so can Felix Jones.

For Emmitt to predict 7 wins for his old team is a little disrespectful, imo.

I know, I know, they can get at least 9.

That is an insult.

No, I don't think Felix can carry the load.

Chris Johnson may be the Titans' "feature" back, but he accounted for LESS than half of his team's total carries in 2008. He averaged 17 carries per game. That's not "carrying the load".

There is no question that Emmitt was the best in the bizness. He has the records (and footballs) to prove it.

He also had an uncanny way of keeping his body strong. He had trainers that he hired and masseurs, chiropractors, bone stretchers...and other stuff to keep him healthy...

The man was a workhorse and he is the NFL's leading rusher in NFL history.

But, today's game is different...however, you cannot overlook what the man did.

;)

its only insulting to those who are insulted.

getting spanked 44-6 in a must win game will do that.

you dont see the steelers or patriots getting embarrassed like that in a must win game.

Wow, doesn't take long for 'fans' to bash the last great Cowboy player to win in big D, does it?

Last I checked, there was a whole lot of trash back then too.
That's not bashing him. It's just telling him that he's not always RIGHT about his opinion of the Cowboys. Yeah, there was so much "Trash" that they made the Playoffs that year.

Jacobs has gotten hurt and missed time the last 2 seasons.

the Commanders have run Portis into the ground and he broke down last season.

Westbrook gets hurt every year and misses games all the time.

And they all missed less games than Felix did.
