Too lazy to do the research right now, but what's the highest position a guard has been taken in the last 10-15 years of the draft?

New England Patriots, G: John Hannah, (4th overall) of the 1973 NFL Draft.

but he's out of our reach, fellas, unless we move up for him.

Like I said, it wouldn't shock me if the 49ers use one of their #1s to get him at all. I would have been surprised, but after reading this article, and having a strong feeling that he'll have excellent interviews and workouts, that surprise is gone..

Of course, if any of you happen to come into possesion of pictures of him and a pineapple in some " comprimising possitions ", uh, well, it would go a long way towards helping your Cowboys, if you know what a I mean..

Pineapple, roasted pig.. hula skirt... any of those would suffice...

I doubt he falls past pitt at 18, which increases the likelihood of thomas falling to 27. I think theres quality guards in rounds 2/3 so I wouldn't be that disappointed, Thomas at 27 would make me much more 'giddy'.

You mean if Iupati goes early, right ?

That's the only way I would draft Earl Thomas with our pick. If Iupati is on the board, I would take him. Quickly.

After that, I'd look to the safety out of USF or maybe even Taylor Mays as a nickel linebacker, as some here have suggested.

He wont be there when we pick
Maybe. Maybe not.

Let's take a stroll down memory lane. Stephen Jackson was not going to be there at 25. Brady Quinn would not be there at 22. Jason Witten would not be there in the 2nd round.

With recent failures of Dallas in waiting too close to their own picks for linemen of their choice, it would be a good draft for Dallas to move up and insure that he is a Cowboy. He would change the dynamics of the whole interior picture quite considerably...agreed.

I say your wrong -

Pitts - won't draft a G that high - the will either go for D William at NT - Earl Thomas at Safety

SF - will either go LT or RB

I am only worried about GB an Philly

but if we trade with NE that puts us GB

in fact Draft Tech has us passing on him an taking Campbell

Aaron Rodgers
Felix Jones

There's always someone who falls. You never know when some dumb *** team is going to take a Heyward-Bey in the 1st ten spot, pushing some players down.

I think he'll be gone when we pick, too much hype. If he's there and we grab him, I'll be very very happy but not gonna get my hopes up.

Maybe not, since Pittsburgh just resigned Hampton to a 3 year deal.

Sure you do. Every year Oakland never fails to make a bone head pick on draft day

If we get this guy I am going to be as giddy as I have over a pick in a long, long time.

Me too, but I can see Pitt snagging him.
