I know his position well enough to know that's probably not right, but I can't see any other reasonable explanation for posting that clip. Can you? He's saying people who aren't worried about the OL are the ones running around hysterically? That just doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

There's a fool standing there trying to convince himself and others that things are fine when they're obviously a disaster.

You're welcome.

Thanks. Now I'm confused as to how that differs from my first guess, but it's really not all that important that the two of us sort it. I'm sure burm will be along to enlighten me at some point.

Cannot wait until this guy is off the team.

Yea, for real bro. Can't wait until Smith and Fredrick are off the team as well, then we can really get some things done on offense.

Wow, our offensive linemen seem to get hurt a lot. Is this due to the coaching / workouts? Or is this due to injury prone players?

The Cowboys need to figure out how to keep healthy OL on the team that are ready to play. Having injured and/or banged up OL is no way to go through the season.

I love Tyron Smith's potential as a franchise left tackle, and I can appreciate him struggling with the move last season. But to say he had a good season for a LT is a stretch and breaking out the anointing oils a little early based on draft position. And Livings had a good season for a guard.

Tyron wasn't that good last year, true enough but Livings and Bernadeau needs to go. Livings being the best olinemen last year is not saying much at all. I would rather see Leary or some other young guys step up and play. Both of these free agent linemen were bad signings caused by Jerry wanting to patch the OL instead of fixing it.

Okay....lol

This is just me, but i wouldn't group a career journeyman that Cincinnati didn't even want back in Livings, with a future bluechip LT in Tyron Smith and our center for the next decade in Frederick.

Livings is part of the problem, not the solution like Tyron and Frederick are.

Livings and Bernadeau did not play at similar levels last season. Livings was solid, and played like the 4th or 5th best player on a good NFL offensive line. Bernadeau on the other hand played terribly.

Wow. It's amazing how two people can watch the same thing and see totally different things. I thought Livings was pretty bad. Tyron was good all things considered. I think that's where you give him the good grade. He had a lot going on being young and making the switch, plus some family nonsense and adapting to how people treat him as a star player. I seriously think this is his year to get better. Year 3 for our young rookie. I hope it's a good one.

Folk's dislike for Livings has colored their thinking.

I guess that's the difference between you and I then. I'd rather keep players who play well, regardless of how many high school and college trophies they have above their fireplace or what Joe Blow, the know it all Dallas beat writer, is writing about them.

If one of our players got hit by a semi truck that drove through his house and hit him while he was in bed sleeping, some posters on this forum would cite that fact as evidence that he is "injury prone". :)

That's fine. I respect your opinion, but Livings has never been considered a great player at his position, and he won't be getting any better. He's peaked. And the guy clearly has a nagging knee issue that affected his play last year. I cannot count on the guy. Plus, I don't think he's athletic enough to be that pulling guard in Callahan's zone blocking scheme.

Depending on the shoulder surgery, it could be a complete pipedream for Mack to be back by June 11-13, or be anywhere near 100% by the start of the season.

I had shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago and I feel 80-85% and getting better by the day. It definitely depends on what type of surgery he had.

Nate Livings = Rag Doll

Definitely not the best player on the incredibly offensive line last year.

I had shoulder surgery 15 months ago and I just noticed a month or two ago it no longer hurts to wash my hair (ie raising my arm).

It all depends on the injury / person.

Who said he was a great player? I didn't say he was an All Pro at the position, but he's clearly the best OG we have on the team until someone steps up and proves otherwise. No reason to want to get rid of a player who was your best OG last year until you have someone ready to replace him who's going to be better.

Oh I totally agree that we don't have anyone to replace Livings right now, and that's just SAD.

I'm sorry, but Livings is not a starting quality player. He's a JAG.

Yes, he's the "best" guard we have right now, but that's like saying I'm a better public speaker than my nephew's newborn baby boy.
