ESPN on DC search

Heard, I think, on NFL Network sometime Monday that Jerry will talk to Moss this week. It is not unprecedented for assistants to talk about other jobs while in playoffs. Wannstedt and Norv both took other jobs while in playoffs with Dallas. I think it is really up to the team if they want to allow it.

Maybe he brings Kevin Greene along to be LB coach his attitude and craziness would be great for Spencer.

Man, that irks me. What I wouldn't give to read "Garrett lining up interviews with potential staff..."

I really think in this instance it is Jerry using the HC search to line up coordinators. Garret can't officially line up candidates yet. I get what you mean but I do think in this case it is OK.

I would love Kevin Greene as our OLB coach.

I love what Kevin Greene has done with the Packers LBs...
  • He has Clay Matthews playing like a young Kevin Greene
  • AJ Hawk had a career year this year
  • They keep trotting guys in off the street to replace injured LBers at various positions -- and they just all seem to play well
I'd love to have him here... as our LB coach.

Maybe he is even an eventual DC candidate...

According to the info I just got from my friend who works for the Packers:

"Capers will not be allowed to interview for any coaching position unless it is a HC or GM position. Any other position would require permission from the Packers, which all will be denied."

The Packers are deciding on whether to add another job title to Capers to keep teams away even considering HC positions. His pay rate was $2.3 million for 2010 and they are willing to up that to keep him.

Kevin Greene who was hired by Capers after Greene himself inquired about a job with Capers, will be available with no restrictions, but it is highly doubtful he would leave the Packers because of his comfort zone with the team and his very close friendship with Dom.

As far as Capers contract, I was old that info is confidential and is unknown.

**EDIT**
She just texted me saying his contract is year to year as of now, but they he can only seek HC or GM positions.

Thats just being dense. Garrett can't be lining up potential candiddates when he is not supposed to have the job yet can he?

But after the Packer are eliminated from the playoffs, they can't deny permission, correct?

Actually, I think you are since you don't get the point of the post. I won't bother clarifying because your response is indicative of the pointlessness of trying to explain.

Oh, I get the point of your post, the tired same old point, over and over and over and over......

Moss did next to nothing as Packers LB coach prior to Capers arrival. McCarthy made Moss asst HC before he even hired Capers.

If you want Capers' proteges, then Kevin Greene & Darren Perry are the better choices. Perry also has ties to LeBeau.

Moss was a 4-3 guy prior to Capers. NO THANKS.
