Have what should be a healthy Aaron Rodgers?

Probably. Packers were likely a 12-4 team with Rodgers for 16 games. They managed 8-8 with Rodgers missing 8 games.

Having said that they don't deserve to be #6. Except in 2010, they get bounced out of the playoffs every year because their high flying offense isn't suited for cold weather games.

Aaron Rodgers is the best guy out there right now for my money, but I'm not impressed with the rest of that team, honestly.

Nothing I have said indicates that I am jumping ship. I'm just frustrated like many others and taking a wait & see what we really have approach. There's already enough anticipatory excitement in here to go around.

You haven't taken a wait and see. You proclaimed we would be picking in the top-ten of the draft, lol. That's definitely not "wait and see."

I agree, but assuming they added a little talent and didn't have a lot of slippage just getting back Rodgers should be a win or two.

We still have Lee so not sure what you mean we lost or 2 best defenders. Ware was terrible last year, mainly due to injury but a 4th round rookie shut him down 1 on 1. He was terrible in the run game, had no pass rush move as he tried to beat around the corner with speed and over ran the QB numerous times. Ware is a great player but last year....we only need replacing 6 sacks which he got most of in the first few games.

Hatcher had a career year, yes his production will be hard to replace but with a healthy rotation we can replace it with 2-3 players.

Lee is our best defensive player but for only 1/4 to 1/2 of the season, and never when it counts the most. I love him when he actually plays. With that being said, we were no better with him on the field than we were when he was out. Statistically speaking...

They should change the name of CZ to Cowboys Homers. We had the worst defense in the NFL, and we lost our best two defensive starters. To replace them we signed two hurt guys that could struggle to make it back, and another second teamer from the leagues worst team. These rankings mean nothing, but don't fool yourselves into thinking we are any better than the bottom third part of the NFL. We are set on offense, but we have to prove we are better on defense before anyone shows respect.

Just because you hate virtually every aspect of this football team does not make those of us who wish to comment on the team with a critical (and logical) thought process "homers."

Perhaps you are actually the problem?

Nah, couldn't be that, right? Because you're always right....right?

You my friend are a realist who sees things as they are instead of looking at everything through rose colored glasses. The board has become very split these days. The other guys/gals just can't stand anything negative to be said about the Cowboys no matter how true it is.

Couldn't agree more. Free agency has killed that element of the game.

The salary cap has ruined that part of the game but to be fair the escalating salaries were driving fans away. The rate at which salaries were rising was disgusting! I'm glad that salaries have been capped but saddened that my Cowboys were hit the hardest by that restriction :(

Last year, Ware wasn't one of our best defenders, which is sad considering how bad our defense was. He is no longer the dominant playmaker we all remember and sad as I am to see him go, I think Jerry made the right decision. Hatcher was just going to cost too much. You do realize, don't you, that every player we picked up ( COMBINED! ) cost less than what Hatcher cost this year.

I don't care about power rankings and I certainly don't care what ESPN thinks....So for me it's a double whammy of I could care less.

I prefer to take a wait & see approach. Over the last several seasons I have been that fan.. You know.. The one that believes the glass is always half full. You can only break a heart so many times. Eventually it will remain in a degraded state. Too many little tweaks. Too many questions. You don't get rid of Kiffen and promote Marinelli while keeping Kiffen on as an Asst something or another. You don't get rid of JG. Instead you proclaim him as your pet project trainee HC all the while going through OCs like water. What exactly is JGs role? Do we know? Can someone post a job description? You give Romo a ridiculous contract and pin all of your hopes on his surgically repaired back. This is just scratching the surface. The questionable moves just keep right on coming. I'm hopeful but refuse to have my heart broken yet again in front of the fellas for the umpteenth time.

I know what you mean. Every year is the same thing. This year's going to be different. We've gotten better Optimism is always high this time of year. That's because nobody is playing. And then the games start and it's like "here we go again." It's been like that for as long as I can remember. Until I see progress on the field, I won't believe it.

Agree. Eli threw 30 picks last year and the Giants are now better than us.

And their draft and free agency signings were hardly awe inspiring. New offense and a bunch of new faces.

Our season will come down to one single element: staying healthy. If Romo comes back from his back issues and plays well and IF we can avoid big injury losses on the defensive side of the ball, we'll challenge for the division title. If the injury bug bites hard again (Romo in particular), here comes 5-11 or 6-10. I think it's that simple. We're every bit as good, if not better, than the other three teams in the division. Personally, I think we had a better draft than any of them, and I don't think it's close. Just stay healthy!

It's like everyone in the media pimping how good the Eagles are forgot they were one Orton brain fart from not even winning the division. You'd think the Eagles won the division going away last year with some of the talk.

And they did that with Foles having a historically unbelievable season. Can you really expect him to throw only 2 interceptions all season again in 2014? Probably not.

I am under no delusion that we are an awesome team but the gap between us and Philly isn't as great as people want to claim in the media.

All that and we were one drive from winning the division and going to playoffs with a backup QB. And LOL we didn't lose our two best defensive starters. Ridiculous.
