They should change the name of CZ to Cowboys Homers. We had the worst defense in the NFL, and we lost our best two defensive starters. To replace them we signed two hurt guys that could struggle to make it back, and another second teamer from the leagues worst team. These rankings mean nothing, but don't fool yourselves into thinking we are any better than the bottom third part of the NFL. We are set on offense, but we have to prove we are better on defense before anyone shows respect.

We still have Lee so not sure what you mean we lost or 2 best defenders. Ware was terrible last year, mainly due to injury but a 4th round rookie shut him down 1 on 1. He was terrible in the run game, had no pass rush move as he tried to beat around the corner with speed and over ran the QB numerous times. Ware is a great player but last year....we only need replacing 6 sacks which he got most of in the first few games.

Hatcher had a career year, yes his production will be hard to replace but with a healthy rotation we can replace it with 2-3 players.

I think we proved that by being 5-0 in the division until Romo got hurt. 5-1 record total in the division, swept 2 teams. ...I'm sorry what am I missing by being 3rd best in the division

Yeah. That 5-1 sure got us far. The Gnats and Iggles have gotten better. Some might even argue that Washington is also better with the coaching staff changes, addition of DJackson, and RG3s humble return. I wouldn't rest on my laurels unless those laurels included a deep playoff run of sorts.

Well seeing as Romo didn't lose a division game all year, we improved plus get a ton of players back that didnt even play. Won't be easy but I say we are the better team.

RG3 will never duplicate his rookie season. He didn't play that bad all year last season because the injury. He is over rated and Jackson in Philly was more dangerous. Besides we usually shut him down, Carr had made him quit more then once

It would be prudent to wait and see what kind of post op Romo we see back out there before we get too excited.

Look for every excuse you have why we could be bad I can counter for why we will be good.

News flash for you.....every team can say the same thing including the over rated Seachickens.

I like when Dallas is under the radar, when seen to play better anyways when our backs or against the wall

I love your optimism. Kudos to you. I'm not here to care whether I am countered at every corner or not. I see what I see and feel what I feel. Period.

I see what I see. ..if you don't want to be countered then don't reply to my comment and vice versa

You're pretty piss and vinegar lately man. What's going on? Have you really lost faith that much?

This team got better. Period. We lost Ware who did NOTHING last year and Hatcher who did NOTHING the second half of the season. We drafted two sure fire starters (Martin and Lawrence). We get Crawford back. We added much needed depth to rotate on the defensive line. We improved just as much as Philly and the Giants, one of which was a worse team than the Cowboys to begin with (Giants). The only logical argument for anyone having us ranked below them is our schedule.

I really don't give two dumps about power rankings, but these are pretty bad. Even the friggin author says we got better while dropping us five spots. Makes no sense.

Given we have lost some veterans, Romo's health is still up in the air, and the fact that we are hamstrung with major deficiencies at head coach, 22 might be rather generous.

I prefer to take a wait & see approach. Over the last several seasons I have been that fan.. You know.. The one that believes the glass is always half full. You can only break a heart so many times. Eventually it will remain in a degraded state. Too many little tweaks. Too many questions. You don't get rid of Kiffen and promote Marinelli while keeping Kiffen on as an Asst something or another. You don't get rid of JG. Instead you proclaim him as your pet project trainee HC all the while going through OCs like water. What exactly is JGs role? Do we know? Can someone post a job description? You give Romo a ridiculous contract and pin all of your hopes on his surgically repaired back. This is just scratching the surface. The questionable moves just keep right on coming. I'm hopeful but refuse to have my heart broken yet again in front of the fellas for the umpteenth time.

Philly is not that much better than us, if they are better than us at all.

I greatly disagree. Foles is a great one. I said it before he was drafted, he's got it all. Last year was not an anomaly. This is their division to lose as long as he is under center. Within the next 2 seasons he will be universally acclaimed as a top 7 QB - Luck/Rivers/Romo level, if not above.

What is funny is that somehow we dropped 5 spots after a draft and UDFA period where we likely gained 3-4 starters and a couple solid contributors.

If I were Minnesota, I'd be more bummed than we are supposed to be. They had a good draft, added a QB and improved the coaching staff, and dropped 5 spots behind the Skins, Bills, and the 4-12 Bucs.

Somebody tell me what the Packers did to move up.

I think you can make a lot of arguments about almost every team in the division. The Cowboys have a bad defense and a question mark at QB. The Giants had one of the worst QBs in the league last year and gave up a lot of sacks without The Commanders had a bad defense and a bad year from RG3. The Iggles lost their top WR and I think there's still a question out there about Nick Foles future.

Not saying that the Cowboys are the top, or deserve to be, but each of these teams has some faults and could fall apart. That's the nature of this NFL, you lose a few players at the wrong places and your team falls to pieces. I'd probably put the Cowboys above the Giants, because they were last year and I'm unconvinced either team got significantly better in the off season.

Have what should be a healthy Aaron Rodgers?

Have what should be a healthy Aaron Rodgers?

Probably. Packers were likely a 12-4 team with Rodgers for 16 games. They managed 8-8 with Rodgers missing 8 games.

Having said that they don't deserve to be #6. Except in 2010, they get bounced out of the playoffs every year because their high flying offense isn't suited for cold weather games.

That's what I meant. Just didn't expect you to jump ship so abruptly.

Nothing I have said indicates that I am jumping ship. I'm just frustrated like many others and taking a wait & see what we really have approach. There's already enough anticipatory excitement in here to go around.
