1. Patriots
2. Colts
3. Chargers
4. Cowboys
Felix Jones should help the running game immediately. But who will emerge as the No. 2 receiver? Patrick Crayton wasn't up to the task in late '07. (MM)

5. Jaguars
6. Giants
Teams other than the Patriots aren't supposed to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Will Michael Strahan retire? Can they compensate for free-agent losses at LB? (MM)
7. Steelers
8. Seahawks
9. Browns
The 2007 darlings face high expectations. The offense will score. Can the D, anchored by additions Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams, hold up its end? (JW)
10. Packers

Seems about right, Browns are a little surprising but I guess warranted. More proof that all you gotta do if you want to go from crap to playoff contenders, just trade the Cowboys your first round pick.

I'm fine with that, although I think the Colts will fade a little.

The Colts had a lot of injuries last year, not the least of which was Dwight Freeney - I don't see them fading much at all.

yesss-we are no 4-omg-does this mean we will be in the nfc championship?.I knew we would do it.

Let's see how he plays coming off the injury, also, I don't see Marvin Harrison contributing much this year, I think the Colts hit their peak 2 years ago, don't get me wrong, I still thing they are a good team, I just think they are not going to be as good as in years past, as a matter of fact, I think the Jags overtake them in their division this year.

As long as they have Manning they will be a regular season nightmare.

Playoffs is where they will struggle.

Interesting what they choose to highlight. I think the new corners are a much bigger deal than Felix.

And speaking of fading, they still have Brady but I think the Pats defense will take a major slide.

Well the Fins aren't in the top ten so I guess it has some merit. The Cowboys are the best of the NFC. And 4th in the league. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I agree. I hope it is time for a Patriots fade.

Yeah, I think last year the combined age of their LB's was probably close to 90 :D
I'll take the Steelers at number seven.

Call me a homer, but the Chargers are not more talented than we are. Then again, I don't think there's an overall more talented team in the entire league going into this fall. I think the Pat's age on D is going to start to take a toll and I think the Colts will also fall a bit. Don't get me wrong, both will be in the playoffs and will be Super Bowl contenders, but they're not dominate like they have been. I think Jacksonville may win the AFC South this season. N.E. doesn't have any competition for the East and San Diego doesn't have much in the West.

We're certainly more talented than the Chargers. The only area in which the compare to us is front 7 and running backs. Yet last year we had more sacks and an equal YPC rushing. Romo is lightyears beyond Rivers. Our receivers are better and our secondary is much better.

I actually think we are better than the Chargers, i also believe the Patriots wont be nearly as good, they lost a lot of players this off season but ESPN loves the patriots so.... But i think we should be number 2 after the COlts honestly. I just dont think the Pats are going to be that good..

Chris Carter picked Dallas as his most overrated team. I can't really argue with that either because they haven't won a playoff game in 12 years or so... Dallas will have to prove themselves this year, no excuses.

Did he offer any other reasoning? Because that reasoning alone is pretty ********.

You can't necessarily hold 10 years of playoff disappointment against this year's team.

However, there's going to be some "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" with this year's team and the national media.

An awesome regular season isn't going to be enough to get everyone on board with this year's Cowboys team. For some, if not many people, the Cowboys can only prove themselves come January. August-December won't really mean a lot given our recent playoff history.

he's probably pissed because he's been on our jock for the last 2 years, and we haven't won a playoff game

Yeah, I just don't see how what happened 2 years ago, let alone 12 years ago affects how you'd rank teams in 2008.
