SF 49ers, lost a lot of players, more than many think. They did not replace very many of them, and had a horrible draft. As well, the QB position is up in the air.
We do not know what Lance is at QB, and Pursy was riding a pretty dang goos defense and a team that was hot. How wil he be in year 2.
They lost both OC & DC as well.

Same for the Eagles, but at least they possibly replaced some of what they lost. As a good draft, or seems to be, but also lost both OC & DC. I have no issue with them at #2. However, they could easily be #5 as well.

Not sure where the Dolphins came from to be that high. But it is just another opinion list.
Have no issues with it.
Who did the niners lose? They signed a top 3 DT in the NFL.

All those young QB's are going to be better this year and Their running QB will be healthy and play a role which will help them.

I'm wondering when their 1 receiver will start his season...Miami.

I'm Ok with this........some may put the 49ers ahead of us and I wouldn't disagree, but the questions regarding their QB position are hard to overlook.

I'm OK with this ranking, its subjective but at least somewhat close considering this time of year.
TC is looming, that's when we might get a few peeks early.
Pre-Season games are when we get to take a look at some of the youth, those camp battles going on that you need to prove it in a preseason game to win that battle if it's a close call between the two, that's what preseason games should be for.
No benefit in winning, just for evaluation entering final cut down mode.
We want to start talking camp comps...
Defensively first there are pages to be discussed, @jazzcat22 has done an exceptional job in bringing the Battle Lines, he set the premise for conversation.
The comp in our back seven is going to be insane.

Yeah I have a hard time believing the Dolphins are the 4th best team in the NFL.

Classic recency bias and projection. I think they have a ton of potential, but it's too soon to rank them so highly. Like Detroit, they are a 2023 sweetheart. We will have to see who comes to fruition.

Yes they signed Hargrave, but lost one of the best OL in the NFL, McGlinchey?
They lost several other starters and some depth. Lost 9 players. Look at who they lost and who they signed, as well, the horrible draft.

ok, just looked it up, here it is.

This season, the linebackers should be fully able to keep both the secondary and defensive line in sync.

Most likely QB issues.

I know Purdy had his run but if you read a lot of these analyses the one theme for the 49ers seems to be that many in football still question Purdy or Lance or whomever ends up under C at some point this season.
Yeah but if we are talking about rosters…..49ers are deep and talented. And while we may have our questions about Purdy…he played well when healthy.

The addition of a true 1 tech that we haven't had in so long that I can't honestly remember when, now I have to go look it up...lol
Lots of speed in this back seven, have to stop the run though.
There is a good blend for both this season, and why this defense has the potential to be really good.

Bill Walsh was a good boxer in service...oh, I'm still looking for San Francisco. That is doubled up for the Eagles!!

Purdy might be a one year wonder; but he also might be a Kurt Warner/Tony Romo as well. Time will tell.

the 49rs have more strengths and fewer weaknesses; their D is still better unless our young people step up and you never know about that

They lost a lot of depth players on that team. They typically are one of the most injured teams but they remained deep.

They lost #2 Corner (Moseley), Slot Corner (Jimmie Ward), OLB (Azeez Al-Shaair), Starting DE (Charles Omenihu and Samson Ebukam), RT (McGlinchey).

They like Dallas will be sink or swim with their depth tested and draft picks stepping up.

Browns??? No doubt that assumes Watson is all pro again. Never mind that he hasn’t been a productive QB in a couple years. Jackson and Watson and the idiot in Arizona are put on these pedestals for zero reason.

Even if Watson is all pro I don’t see the Browns as a top 10 roster.
