Sanchez is ok..

I just don't like him.

Also, I don't see him as a scheme fit at all.

Not the worst pickup though.

Agreed. Backup QB, unlike other positions, is as much about experience as it is about ability. Austin Davis fit both criteria, as does Sanchez. Having started - and won - games in the NFL is an important consideration.

Trust me.. If Sanchez ever has to start and can't win it will be because he sucks.. Garrett will get no blame.

Sanchez gets a lot of hate and rightfully so.. but I watched all his games living in Denver and I gotta say he played ok for the most part. But he did have an awful series and then he shut down mentally after that. He got that deer in the headlights look which is the worst thing a qb can do.

But Denver is stupid because they have Lynch which also played mediocre and Trevor Semien wasn't exactly playing better than Sanchez either. Kind of looked like Elway and Kubiak didn't want Sanchez to begin with.

Really, why am I not surprised that our player acquisition strategy is weighted toward representation instead of performance and fit?
Yep...I'm not feeling that...at all. Its the stupidest football move since.....

Does it really matter? Davis or Sanchez, either going to be able to operate this offense successfully?

I will say this, Sanchez is leaps and bounds ahead of Weeds and Cassil so at least there is that.

As of today we have the best QB'S we've had in forever!

If Austin can't make the Cleveland Browns, he doesn't get to talk about skills - much less make salary demands.

But didn't you watch the game when he torched our, even worse then, defense 2 years ago??

No conspiracy! Teams often deal with agents that they have a very good relationship with. They have a good rapport with Dunn so when he has players that he thinks or knows can help he calls all the teams that are looking for that position, the teams listen and they are always up on the pros and cons of players anyway and if they fell Sanchez or whomever can help they are confident that they can get a deal done with Dunn, if the player will sign. austin Davis wanted to be a Cowboy but he wanted assurances that he would not be a quick cut or release
Austin Davis wanted to be a Cowboy but wanted assurances that he would not be cut or released. hhmmm, okay Austin, we'll allow that parameter in your contract as long as you allow the parameter that we expect you to play at a high level or we can release you.

If you want assurances that you will not be released than improve your skills, get in film room, be a better QB, prove it on the field.

I doubt Sanchez is cheaper. They preferred Sanchez.

Exactly, I'm not rah rah on Sanchez as a starter but as a cheap, experienced backup he is a good option. The Bronchos traded for Sanchez thinking he would be their starter. And if his salary was lower, they clearly would have kept him as a backup.

Dallas clearly waiting for an experienced guy like Sanchez or McCown to get cut and be available to (1) sign with giving up a draft pick and (2) be forced to take a much lower salary as a backup. It was clearly the right plan but its being drowned out in the noise at the moment.

This should come as no surprise, who you know is a lot more important that what you know in almost any profession.
