Their ref was pushing him away when he took a week swipe with his right leg. He may have never made contact, but the intent and when the ref has his hands on you at the time...

If you look at the original footage at the cowboys site he takes a hop step do to his helmet being thrown at him.

Watch his right leg when the ref tries to pull him away. He takes a swipe at the guy with his leg. That some probably why.

I see another angle today on MSN. I guess Irvin didn't do any kicking. Can't figure out why he was ejected. Let's see who gets fined. Throwing a helmet should get you a good one.

I was at the game. David Irving was straddling the Browns' Erving on the ground and wasn't letting him get up. It looked like they were trash talking, and then David Irving starting sucker punching him and then Erving pulled off David Irving's helmet and threw it at him in retaliation. David Irving threw the first punch guys. They mustn't have shown that on TV. It's absolute punk garbage that doesn't belong in the game of football.

He ripped his helmet off. Immediate ejection. Then 95 kicked him, which got him tossed to.

I didn't know Irving kicked him. That is an "ejectionable" offense.
